    Another option...

    50" LG Plasma 1080 600Hz (50PV450)
    $750

The reviews for this television are amazing. I'm researching and not really seeing anything under 4 stars (5 star scale). There aren't really any consistent complaints other than the glare. I have a very dark room so that isn't even on my radar.

I have 3 LG's now. They are all outstanding for me, a lot of bang for the buck.

        Scott,

The 60" LG is already back to $1,200. It must have been a one day deal. Hopefully it gets back down to $900 in the near future.

The past three days I've been working extra jobs where I pretty much sit in a car and research HDTV's. At this point in time I'm strongly leaning to going with LG. The reviews are wonderful with virtually no issues.

Right now that 50" LG is #1 on my list. I really hope my credit card gets here soon so I can pick one up. If that 60" drops back down to $900 I'll probably get it.

Thanks for all the advice/comments people.

Agreed. Have a LG plasma and networked blu ray player. Both have been solid. LG is definitely the new kid on the block.

I went to Best Buy, checked out the LG...and it was pretty good. They had the PV400 instead of the PV450, so I balked with it at $750. I wanted to really look into the PV400.

I go back today with my eyes on a Panasonic 50" Plasma P50ST30. It has a wifi dongle, 3D, 1080p, and is on sale for $730. The only one left was the model and it was too good a deal to pass up. With a 10% discount it came to $657. I bought the 4-year warranty for $170 so I walked out with the tv for $874.61.

I was hesitant about getting a display model until I heard about the warranty. If anything happens they take care of it (excluding accidents).

I'm happy with my purchase and can't wait to get my electrician over here to set it up with me. I have a brand new Pioneer 5.1 receiver with Boston Acoustic speakers ready to go!

I watched the super bowl on a friends 60" LED. First time I had ever seen one outside of a store. Wow.

Nicely done. I have heard nothing but good things about the Panasonic's.

Thanks man. The only negative is Panasonic doesn't have is that "sexy look". It has a bigger frame and is a little more thick. It's still under 3" thick but when you break it down it's like 40% more thick than the LG.

It's not an eyesore, but it lags behind in design. And when side by side it is clearly not as "sexy".

It sounds dumb but you're right on the sexy factor. I love the look of my 55" tv that is only 1 1/4 inch thick.

Small price to pay considering the smokin' deal you got. We're going to need some pics once you get it set up.

I've had my LG for about a month now and I am pissed I didn't upgrade sooner. Watching it snow in Skyrim is really beautiful. Plus, Christina Hendrick's backside looks massive now, haha.

It's on the wall right now and I am very happy with how everything turned out. I need to figure out how I'm going to hang everything on the walls now but after I get it set up I'll post a few pictures.
