Slightly off topic, but the $1000-$1200 budget 1080P projectors are now down to the $600-670 price range. Very affordable if you are considering 60" or larger sets.

Sony by far outperformed everyone this year in quality. It's amazing how great the upscaler and triluminous system is. By the way, check out Breaking Bad in 4k, it's pretty awesome.

Thanks authentic! I was just reading on another forum about the movers coupons not working with Sony, which is fine since I did get a decent discount on the set. I agree that the Sonys offer a really natural looking image and excellent upscaler to 4K. The triluminous display has a lot to do with colors looking so natural and colorful.

I caught parts of Breaking Bad and House of Cards in 4K to test around and they look amazing. Just wish my connection wasn't inconsistent even when wired when trying to stream 4K content.

I had to have the panel on my 75" Samsung F8000 LED replaced last week. For the first time ever I had purchased the extended warranty with Geek Squad, so it didn't cost me anything. It was crazy seeing the inside of the TV though. Instead of just replacing the TV they brought in a new panel and had to take the motherboard, speakers, camera, etc off my defective TV and put them on the new panel. But it seems to have fixed the issue. That flashlight affect had gotten really bad around the edges and also I had this faint horizontal line across the TV in a couple places whenever you had a darker gray scene. The new display fixed all that so I'm happy again.

Kevin, that sucks you had to get the panel replaced on that Sammy already. Didn't that model just come out a few years ago? I struggled a little bit going to 65" at first, but I can imagine how awesome that 75" is especially watching movies on it.

I'd love a 70 inch tv. I want to see what 2015 brings us.

Check anything from CES. There normally aren't many big surprises after that.

I'm interested in what prices drop to on 65 and 70" tvs. I want one that size eventually, and am not worrying about 4k right now. Love to see prices drop a bit more, not in the position to drop 1k, but could consider lower when they come down as time goes on.

I'll probably have to wait more than a year, but that's fine...no rush, our 47" is fine, would just like to fill that spot on my wall up one of these days, and get that bigger one in the bedroom.

I know! No one saw the defect but me, but people are coming over for the game and I wanted it fixed before then.

I bought it in 2014, it was the top non-4k model when I bought it. I have three Sammy's but this is the only LED (64" and 42" plasmas). I had already returned a Vizio LED for similar reasons early 2014 when I was replacing my gameroom TV and ended up getting the 64" plasma. Just haven't had luck with the LEDs I guess. Hopefully this replacement panel is a better quality. I'm pretty OCD about the TV picture and I've been watching it all week and haven't seen any issues with the new panel. No more flashlighting or that faint line.

I attached images of the bad TV. One is of the faint horizontal line. It looks like burn in or something but it wasn't that. The other is of the flashlighting around the corners, that pic is a little blurry because I had to take the pic so quick on that black screen. Both of these issues are gone with the new panel.

But yes it is a nice TV. I have a large living room, we probably sit 16 feet away from the TV because we sit on a couch at the other end of that 12' rug in this pic:

Getting the itch to buy a new tv for the living room. I just bought the Sony 40w600B for the bedroom. I have a 50 inch in the living room, but I'm considering 60 or 70 inch.
