So as most of you know, I got a new 4K TV (Samsung UN65KS850D from Costco) and fired up Titanfall 2 last night, as I was just going through all my games to see how much better, if any better, they look and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD..I have found my game to demonstrate the power of 4K and it is Titanfall 2.

This is...just jaw droppingly amazing use of 4K and even though it doesn't support HDR (or at least my TV didn't indicate it did) I plan to use this to demonstrate to anyone the power of 4K...

Why do you disable HDR for the cable tv viewing?

Also, I use Dynamic Contrasting on Low, it just looks better to me than turning it off..

I disable HDR for cable because there's nothing on cable that's HDR lol. Also, as far as dynamic contrast I leave that off because to me it's unnecessary extra processing that changes the colors a bit. I like to keep it as natural as possible. You play at night with backlight at 19? That's a bit too much for me lol.

Because it's native 4k on the pro and there's no jaggies. Also, I noticed the textures are better too. It looks a lot better.

TitanFall 2 and Diablo are the two best I've seen so far. I want to check out Ratchet & Clank! I thought NBA looked great but didn't see it looked amazing as I expected.

Oh yeah, Nioh looks amazing as well. And Uncharted 4 looks great, esp the lighting.

I have not gotten much done in the gaming world since getting this TV. I just hop into a game, run around and look at stuff, then say "ok I want to see (fill in the blank)" and then drop out and go to something else.

Dude, if you haven't seen Diablo yet on this TV, you need to try it, it's got INCREDIBLE COLOR and INCREDIBLE LIGHTING!!

My wife, who swears nearly everything looks the same even commented on how much better it looked. And that's a huge thing in and of itself, LOL.

I'm really hoping The Show '17 has multiple options for the Pro like they did for Tomb Raider.

In aiding the 1080p users, they could really do some things regarding anti-aliasing (see the most recent video, the jaggies around the bat are extremely apparent) and a consistent framerate, assuming the game still boasts some choppiness time to time. I'm also interested in seeing a downsampled version too, just to get that cleaner look.

I would very much like to see what a 1440p upscaled or 2160p version of The Show looks like as well, though.

So there is a good reason to disable HDR on cable if you have DirecTV.

I had DirecTV come out yesterday and install a C61K box so that I could get the 4K channels. He had to run a new line but overall it went pretty well and I got the 4K channels after some waiting for the box to deliver the reset.

Anyways, the guy leaves and we watch a 4K tv show about space junk, which my wife absolutely loved and commented about how great it looked (I think she's starting to tell the difference in resolution at this point). After that ended we switched to The Walking Dead and I noticed every so often, about every 20 seconds, the sound would cut out for a split second. So I turned off the Dolby Digital and same thing.

My wife wouldn't allow me to do any more adjustments until the show was over so as not to interrupt Negans shenanigans so I read a bit more while we watched and as it turns out the C61K doesn't like HDR being turned on while watching DirecTV non-4K stuff and it causes it to get a buffer overrun.

The 4K stuff works fine in regards to it and no audio issues there. But on non-4K content, on a Samsung set, you will get audio drop outs every 15 seconds or so if you have UHD color turned on.

I went in and turned it off on HDMI 3 where the C61K was plugged in and we watched regular, non-4K tv for about an hour without any problems.

So if you have a Samsung 4K tv and DirecTV, make sure to turn off UHD Color (under Expert settings) if you are having any audio issues!

Thanks Artman because I had planned to do this anyways and having it set that way just caused problems so I see why you did it.
