Looking for a TV that will send me into the next generation of TVs (ie., something that is built for the next wave of broadcast TV and won't be "old technology" in a year or 2). I'm not a person who upgrades TVs every 2-3 years. In fact, I'm still using a rear projection TV that finally conked out (don't judge me bro, LOL).

    -65 inches minimum

    -good for gaming

    -good for Netflix/streaming

I have no idea where to start besides looking at what specs are on the highest priced TVs and working backwards. OLED, SUHD, etc. I have no idea what's best.

The easiest thing to do is to go to the store and see them in person, but that can be deceiving sometimes because you can fall in love with something that is good now but won't last.

I appreciate any advice I can get.

I'm assuming for a quality TV starts anywhere above $1,500? Definitely want to stay well below $3,000.

For that, Id go with the LG C7 OLED for $3,199 by Labor Day it might be on a better sale.

Actually, the B7 (only difference between that and the C7 is the stand) for $2,999

With the OLED, yes. It also offers some of the best input lag on the market at 21.1 ms. I have the 55 inch version, I love it.

The 4k LG C7 OLED TV offers excellent picture quality thanks to its ability to display true blacks. It's especially good for gaming thanks to its very low input ...

According to that site, the LG C7 comes in #1 in most of the categories for best recommendations.

              Impressive.

And like I said C7 is pretty much identical to the B7. Only difference is the stand and lack of Dolby Atmos in the TV speakers.

I own a Samsung but I agree with Scott, if you can afford one of those LG's you will be very happy.

                    So I have 2 questions.

First does any one have any ideas what is like the best sound thing to buy for a TV that doesn't cost a lot? I know sound bars are not that much but I have also heard they are really not that good.

Second question has any one heard of a product called wirelessTV 2 or something? I saw it in best buy today and from my understanding it makes it so you don't have to plug HDMI cables into things or something. Considering I have like 10 HDMI things and my TV only has 4 HDMI slots it can get annoying having to unplug a HDMI cable from one thing to a different one depending on what I want to watch and all the cables that came with it. I have always said I wish TV and consoles and such were cables free.

The wireless TV is wireless HDMI cables, not gonna give you more slots. What's your budget for a sound bar?

Yeah from looking my understanding is that the Wireless HDMI thing is more for sending a signal from 1 TV to another TV or something. While I have heard of the Playbase thing is really good but it cost like 700.

Right now you could even get the Samsung K850 Dolby Atmos sound bar for $799 at BBY. Theres a bundle with this one currently where if you get the soundbar, you can get the M8500 4K player for $99.

                          Also consider these:
Samsung's quest to up its audio game has manifested in a series of soundbars that offer great fidelity for the dollar. The Polk MagniFi Mini AX is the all-around best soundbar because of its big, immersive sound, small footprint, affordable cost, and easy operation.

Anyone have any experience with wireless HDMI? Where we want to put our tv mount is probably not easy to drop a coax cable for cable box...Probably 150 with cable guys, and he had some issues getting a good signal in some spots as it was with older cabling.

Some of these were 160-200...Would allow me to have Xbox feed to TV remotely and put xbox and cable box right near the cable outlet that currently works (to the left of the bed) and the tv on the wall so looking at the end of the bed works well...

                            Seems interesting...anyone try it?

While like I said the Playbase cost 700 and that is more then I would want to spend and I do already have a 4k player. Just wonder if there are any like sound options that are good that don't cost much kind of like how the Samsung ks8000 is a really good TV but doesn't cost a lot lol. I will look at the link you have here though.
