Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
You upgrade yearly? I’d like to sell my KS8000 in the living room. Want a FALD tv with FreeSync, but I’ll wait and see what comes this year. Love my OLED in the bedroom but afraid with my kids using it too much causing some burn in. Where do you sell your TVs? I’ll probably try offer up app or Craigslist. Not doing eBay since I’m not shipping any TVs.

LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
Hmmmmm.....
TCL goes big, rolls out a 75-inch 8K QLED Roku TV at CES 2019
You might only just be getting used to 4K, but the resolution ride is far from over. The proof is TCL's new 8K Roku TV which the company debuted at CES 2019. Known for producing high-quality TVs on the cheap, this new 8-series Roku TV could be the model that ushers in the 8K age.
FYI for any TCL Xbox one x guys like myself, MS and TCL are working together and last year TCL 6 series TV's will get an update to fully support Xbox One X Dolby vision.
Netflix still broken on consoles so it won’t mean much. Smh [emoji1748]*[emoji3603]

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I’m sure it will be but I’m not jumping in until the prices are decent. Not spending over 5k for a tv.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
TCL confirms that the 75 inch TCL 6 series is a 120hz panel native which explains the high price over the 65 incher
I am returning my Samsung QLED 8FN 55 inch that cost me the same as the TCL 75 incher and ordering the TCL 75 inch 6 series with 120hz panel

If Scott get a divorce, she taking all those TVs with her. Poor Scott will be left with buying a Hisense or TCL.Comment

But I am excited about the micro LED's. In 10 years when they're affordable, I might even get one.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
All these new TV's are exciting but since I just invested in a new one I'm looking at at least three years (wife mandated lol) I'm happy that I was able to get a FALD and not edge lit and Dolby Vision for under 1K. So I'm good for a while. Maybe in three years I'll get an OLED.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I think "soon" is relative. As long as OLED can get bigger and cheaper faster than microLED, it will be a while before it goes away. It isn't even really "here" yet. After all, OLED has been better than LCD's forever, yet LCD's haven't died.
But I am excited about the micro LED's. In 10 years when they're affordable, I might even get one.
MicroLED will fix what the issues are with OLED and that is when you will see the shift but it will be a while because MicroLED will be expensive.
But OLED will die just like Plasma and LED will remain alive and still selling the mostComment
