Re: The Hunger Games (movie) - March 23rd
So this movie is supposed to be like Battle Royale? If that's the case I'll have to check it out eventually because I've watched BR several times.Comment

The last fight scene was weak. Much more dramatic in the book. It was too quick in the movie."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: The Hunger Games (movie) - March 23rd
Yeah, this was one of the closest book to movie adaptations I've ever seen. There were only a couple of minor divergences from the book. The only complain any book reader could really have is the lack of context to some of the things. Since so much of the story telling was in Katniss' mind in the book it's hard to show that on screen. I thought they did a great job with everything though. I loved the movie.Comment

Re: The Hunger Games (movie) - March 23rd
Not really funny.
Books aren't movies, and movies aren't books. Different things work in different mediums. Things that would work in a book, don't often work in a movie and vice versa. Also, movies are much more time constrained and things need to be moved along more quickly, thus things need to be altered to either make sense, or just be completely left out.
So it's really no surprise that it's different from the book, regardless of who helped write it.Comment

this. like i said, the movie was pretty darn close. You can scrutinize every movie adapation of a book. Not really funny.

Yeah I've heard it was pretty honest, true to the essential story. Some stuff doesn't translate and some jazz you just gotta omit, alter for time as well. Aren't they making 4 movies? Assuming 2 for the last one ... would hate to think they'd make 6 movies for 3 books .... LOLComment
