Re: The Hunger Games (movie) - March 23rd
I watched the movie before I read the book and enjoyed it, moreso because I didn't have expectations and wasn't constantly critiquing how events in the book were represented on film.[NYK|DAL|VT]

I'm not a reader, but my fiancee had the books on her Kindle, so I read them after seeing the movie and thought they were great. I can see where some people who read the books first could have a problem with them, but enjoyed it.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I don't think it matters.
I personally hated the movie and liked the books. But I didn't hate the movie because of book stuff. I hated the movie because I just thought it was an awful movie.
Anyway, my opinion is it doesn't matter. If you like the movie, you'll like the movie whether you did or didn't read the books.

I might think the movie sucks because it, well, actually sucked and not because I had just read the book earlier that week when I saw it.Comment

Re: The Hunger Games (movie) - March 23rd
I read all three books in about two weeks and loved them but haven't seen the movie yet. Those of you who did read the books first, did the movie just murder it for you? Or was it decent comparatively? I don't want the movie to ruin the books for me.MLB: Minnesota Twins

It doesn't. The book is better like in most cases, but the movie was exciting as well. I think you get more out of the movie by having read the book.

I saw the movie and it didn't motivate me to become interested in the books.
