Sold the the remaining parts from my rig which netted me ~$250. Picked this sucker up at Microcenter for $479.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076RT2ZVV..._t2_B076S4RH6K

Was the best price vs performance I've seen in the month or so I've been researching.

Either way, you’ll be happy! Enjoy it.

Before tax. Cost me $508 out the door. Also has a $20 rebate.

I felt like the 1070ti was about perfect for me and my build. Specifically thid EVGA (thanks Phobia) since it fits in my case with little room to spare. The MSI I wanted wouldn't have quite fit, without modification anyway.

Not sure what the size or the power draw of that 1080 is. I also wasn't sure if my 8400 would bottleneck it or not.

        Double quoted by accident.

And thanks I'm looking forward to giving it a go. Should be getting my monitor within the week too, so more exciting times ahead.

CPU wouldn’t bottleneck it at all. Especially when you move up to 1440p.

But honestly, you’ll be fine with the 1070ti. Was just giving an alternative if wanted.

On a side note, no idea why my post deleted lol.

Too many options! Lol, that is a good price for the 1080 and appreciate ya looking out.

            I think I did well price-wise with the 1070ti I got too. Though it's looking like I need to upgrade my PSU anyway; only have 1 8-pin PCI-E connector (6+2) and 1 6-pin. GPU requires 2 8's.

And yea Tapatalk has been acting up lately for me too. Inserting characters randomly and not allowing edits.

That 1080 requires 2 as well. The gigabyte 1080 I have is like the only one I’ve seen that just requires 1 8 pin power connector.

Problem with pc builds, it’s always needing to add something (or finding a reason too LOL)

That's awesome, I'm going back and forth so much on these two... May end up coming down to which one is in stock at microcenter Friday, they both have just a few in stock.

Best thing too buy for a new PC build in my opinion is a M2 NVMe HD. They are ridiculous.

                      I rock a single 500 960.

Question. Did you run them in raid?

Somehow when I installed Windows I ran the single in RAID setup and now I have some major issues with Samsung Magician, in that it cant recognize the drive.

Other than that it perform well. I get 2500 read and like 1700 write. It bothers me though and I think the only way to get it back to IDE/AHCI is to do a fresh install of windows.

Unless something has changed, you have to load the driver and then install windows. Depending on your Bios, there are probably some settings to switch there also.

I got my 950 running on my laptop when they were first out and it was causing everyone problems. I would change it so magician runs.

Thoughts on this? Good price at $350 - I'm just not sure about the size for 1440p.

Nah I don't raid them. Just got the second one when I saw a deal at microcenter I couldn't pass. I probably will Raid them whenever I do a fresh windows install.
