Yeah I bought that one and returned it. Didn't help that I had another 1440p 60hz IPS display next to it.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I use my IPS for all my casual stuff, surfing web, music, editing pictures, etc. My 144hz TN panel is where I do my gaming, just because the seek time on the IPS is 5ms where the TN is 1ms. Now does it make much of a difference, no, but the IPS will get a slight amount of blur from ghosting and the TN is crystal clear even with fast movements.Comment

I went with a G sync and it’s pretty amazing. Googling it helped. A lot of positive impressions about it.

I am seeing quite a few 1080 deals that are right about what I paid for the 1070ti.... sometimes less. I don't usually get buyer's remorse but now I'm kind of second-guessing my decision.

Yeah but isn't the TI version of a lower card often better than the non-TI version of the higher card??Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Not enough of a difference to worry about I guess. I just don't like knowing I could have something more powerful, even if marginally, for the same price lol.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I have a question out of left field..
Intel NUC Mini PCs.
Could one of these hold up well for gaming?
Looking right now at one of their "gaming" units - the "NUC 7 ENTHUSIAST MINI PC - NUC7I7BNKQ". Specs look like this:
- Base CPU Frequency - 3.5 GHz
- Turbo Boost - 4 GHz
- Graphics - Intel® Iris™ Plus Graphics 650
- Max Memory - 32GB DDR4
- Intel Wifi - 802.11 ac/bgn
- Max Resolution - 4096x2304
- Video Output - Thunderbolt™, HDMI
- Inputs - USB 3.0 (4)
I've never been a PC gamer, but this year's Madden release on PC has me considering getting in to it. Hooking up a rig to my HT and using it to game and also as a HTPC...LG 77CX OLED / Sonos Arc Soundbar / Xbox Series X / Apple TV 4KComment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
It's pretty doubtful. I'd do this one instead...

Like a pocket PC, really. Does a mini-PC unicorn with the chops to run AAA games like Madden, exist?
This would mostly be a HTPC for me, but with a few more AAA sports titles coming out on PC, it'd be a huge bonus if I could occasionally game on it, too.Last edited by beau21; 07-12-2018, 06:58 PM.LG 77CX OLED / Sonos Arc Soundbar / Xbox Series X / Apple TV 4KComment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
The price gap between the 1080 and 1070ti has narrowed so much than when it first came out, which made sense to get a 1070ti.
But I think for the same price - the 1080 is the easy choice.
A $40+ price difference, the 1070ti is the easy choice.Last edited by TheBleedingRed21; 07-12-2018, 07:34 PM.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Nah, the 1080 is still the better card hands down if the price is the same.

Agreed.
And I may have gotten ahead of myself a little. A lot of the deals I've seen on Reddit were "B" rate inventory or whatever and all had a 1 year warranty or less. That extra 2 years of warranty in and of itself is almost invaluable.
