OMFG if this is true..............
The new NVIDIA’s flagship is much more than GeForce GTX 780 replacement. Despite the fact that reference card will only arrive with 3GB memory, it does not mean that there won’t be the cards with more memory. The rumor has it that NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti will be available in 3 versions: 3GB, 6GB and even 12GB. Which version are you going to choose will only depend on how deep your pockets are. -
Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Sounds like they scrapped the Titan Ultra, and decided to make a it a mainstream card. I just got the 690 and have more overall CUDA cores, but I am intrigued by it being a full GK110 card. It sounds like they have scrapped the "gaming" only and "workstation-only" vision. I just can't believe the price! They just took a card they would've charged $1000 for and dropped it to $699, with a $180 bundle of games? I am half tempted to throw this card (690) back on EBay, along with my 670 4Gb, and raise the money for this card.....Note to Tiburon Marketing:

My 680 is 4 GB, I hear it doesn't handle 4k that good. I guess when I meant if it could handle it was 60 fps maxed out since that is what I expect now.Comment

Not that there's any worthy 4K monitors out there yet really. Most of them are 30Hz, and the few that are 60Hz are still massively overpriced.badComment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Team Red is starting to get a bit more tempting if they come out with aftermarket cards soon enough. I can probably sell my 770 at a decent price and pay a few bucks more to grab a 290.
Anandtech
with the Radeon R9 290 AMD has completely blown the roof off of the high-end video card market. The 290 is so fast and so cheap that on a pure price/performance basis you won’t find anything quite like it. At $400 AMD is delivering 106% of the $500 GeForce GTX 780’s performance, or 97% of the $550 Radeon R9 290X’s performance. The high-end market has never been for value seekers – the fastest cards have always commanded high premiums – but the 290 completely blows that model apart. On a pure price/performance basis the GTX 780 and even the 290X are rendered completely redundant by the 290, which delivers similar-to-better performance for $100 less if not more.
Hardware Canucks
While the R9 290X surprised many with its ability to consistently outperform NVIDIA’s ultra-expensive TITAN, AMD’s positioning of the R9 290 is nothing short of stunning. The performance on tap is beyond impressive and in many ways it is reminiscent of NVIDIA’s 8800GT; a card that nearly matched the 8800GTX but cost significantly less. This is critical for AMD since, if they can maintain availability, the 290 has nearly every other card beat clean in most respects.Comment

780 Ti price will be $700. It is the new king, for it is more powerful then the Titan.

I still can't believe the prices that NVIDIA is charging on some of these cards. Kind of crazy if you ask me when compared to AMD. I bought the 770 back in May which is a 2GB card, wish I had a 3 or 4GB for the extra VRAM.Comment

I've been thinking of picking up an AMD Radeon 290. going to wait for the non-reference cards to come out though. benchmarks look good and the price/performance also seem real good on the few reviews I've seen/read. looking to upgrade from the 7770 2GB that I currently have.Comment

Glad I didn't decide to sell my 690 for the 780ti bundle. Just got Batman:Arkham Origins for $20 off of Amazon. Can't wait to see how this game looks maxed out. My best friend at work got it for his birthday on 360 and raves about it. Yeah for Black Friday!Note to Tiburon Marketing:

Damn sales tempting me. Newegg has a 240 GB SSD on sale for $130 which is finally cheap enough for me to consider it. My desktop is old enough that it could use the speed boost, but being stuck at SATA II rates, not sure if it is still worth the update or not. I mean, any thing will beat a hard disk, but still seems like a lot.
It's the right size for my OS partition, though, so seems hard to pass up. And after I get 7+ years out of this current machine, that drive would probably still have plenty of life left for the next machine. Decisions decisions... On one hand, to make Windows and a few apps load faster, not sure it is worth it. But on the other hand, it is future proofing.Last edited by Redacted01; 11-30-2013, 08:00 AM.Comment

Hmmm, that is one option, and I could always install it later if SATA II just is too slow... which I don't think it will be. It's just a matter of, is it really worth $140 for the drive, mount, and cable so that Windows starts up faster the occasional times I restart and so Office and my programming applications start up quicker. I don't game or anything like that. It won't be accessing data on the drive.
But I don't have any experience with one either, so maybe it is entirely worth it.Comment
