I mean, I don't think it's THAT ridiculous. I've gotten really addicted to researching a certain idea and stayed up all night reading about it. I don't think him obsessing over Bigfoot is really THAT far out of the realm of possibility. Calling people into the office to give a presentation on it? Maybe not, but I also have no idea what it's like working at a news station/I'm not that guy, but I could see somebody obsessing over an idea like that out of the blue.

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
It was a pretty stupid *** plot device. I'm sure they could've come up with a better way to get them in the office on a saturday morning. It just didn't make sense that all of a sudden that guy would start talking about Big Foot, then keep bringing it up over and over again, to the point where he called people in on their day off to show a presentation about it.
I really have no idea how or why Mack is still the exec producer.

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
Interesting especially considering Sorkin's written 3 of the 4 episodes shown thus far. Or at least he has the credit.

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
Outside of the relationship stuff type stories, the emerging storyline seems to be the back and forth with the ACN CEO which has been one of the stronger points of this season. That starts up in episode 3.

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
Man I love HBO. This show is brilliant. Other shows on HBO like game of thrones and boardwalk are fantastic but I hate having to wait a whole week to find out what happens next. After turning off The Newsroom I'm satisfied after every episode. Its nice to not have that whole open-ended story line going. I know there are bigger themes in the series, mostly romance, but for some reason I'm not dying to get there. I enjoy the closure each episode brings.Last edited by johnnyg713; 07-22-2012, 11:20 PM.Comment

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
Though it was one of the more predictable 55 minute chunks of television I've watched this year, really liked this episode, and all that really caught me be surprise was the very ending. Kinda touching and nice to see Will get humbled a little.Comment

Re: The Newsroom (HBO)
I thought this was the best episode thus far. I loved the conference scene at the beginning. The ending was good and even though they had explained exactly why that same scene in Rudy was great, it was still humbling.
Sorkin is going after the Koch Bros hard.
