    Yeah, really good.

A lot in that preview at the end to fit into 3 episodes.

this was the episode I was waiting for, and it delivered.

Only thing, POTUS was supposed to give his speech at 9:15, not 10:00, and it kept getting pushed back. Charlie's speech to the staff was dead on...those of us in news will always remember where we were

Minor complaint from last night's episode. The Rock came back to fight John Cena, not HHH.

Same with Will telling Lonnie, and then letting Lonnie tell the cops. Minor things, great touches

Such a great episode. Brings back memories of exactly what I was doing the moment at the time. Except unlike then, when I was probably in a bit of shock from it all, this time I teared up. And I loved it.

24 hours later and my wife has watched this episode 2 more times already. She just loves a lot of the moving moments in it. Some really great dialog and scenes.

I'm gonna watch it again, sometime this week. It was a really good one and takes me back to a very happy place. I called some of my fiends still with the SeALs and words could not describe their happiness and pride.

That was such a great moment for all Americans regardless of politics.

                    Re: The Newsroom (HBO)

Mack was Mack from the pilot episode. It was great seeing her work and go no Bull **** with that female news reporter threatening to break the story.

Jim and Lisa basically do a 360 and renders all those scenes pretty useless to me while Maggie is acting like a senile, old woman during the most important newsday of recent memory. None of that seemed important as I kept wanting to really dive in deep with the Bin Laden angle, but it never happened. Instead, Sorkin banks on that nostalgia factor to carry him home. Sure, it definitely resonates, but all the feelings are old and remembered feelings - this episode didn't add any new feelings.

Maybe I hyped this episode up too much and got myself excited, but for it being about the one of the biggest stories of the past decade it felt empty and bored.

I think I'm just gonna have to consider this a guilty pleasure and enjoy it for what it is, which is essentially a 1-hour sitcom/screwball comedy with moments of drama grafted to the fringe.

Are you talking about this particular episode or the series as a whole?

A whole. I guess I'm not too big of a fan of pairing the super serious newsroom and news stories with rom-com tropes and goofball logic.

Nothin worse than going off a tweet about god bless America from The Rock and the first thing you hear is "I think we got bin laden"

Also LOL at Will being completely "wasted" for entire portion of the show and then being able to do a newscast perfect.

Show keeps getting worse in my opinion but I'm still going to watch it for the entire season.

These reviews sum up the show perfectly.

Yeah, Charlie jumping to the Bin Laden conclusion at the very beginning through me off. The speech he gave about "remember where you were" was great, but it would have been even better if they had actually created a frantic atmosphere. But then I guess the Jim/Lisa/Maggie/Who gives a **** love quadrant wouldn't have gotten air time.

We didn't know about the Rock's tweet (cause it real life, it didn't happen till ~10:30 [an hour before POTUS' speech]), but of the 5 people in the newsroom at my station when the alert came down about the speech, 1 said bin Laden, 2 said Khadafi (Qa, Ga, K?), 1 said terrorist attack, and 1 didn't want to guess (me, the only none "newsie" in the newsroom at the moment). Its not so far out there....plus, Charlie had an extra ~90 mins to come up with a theory, combining everything (phone call, the tweet, National security adviser being available, 30+ years of experience/gut feelings).

Also, it makes complete sense that Will is able to pull himself together for 2 minutes, knowing he's tossing to POTUS. It does amount to the most important story he's ever reported on.

                                Agreed with all of this.

And I'll also throw out that I don't think Charlie has to have reliable evidence or anything that makes him think "You know what? I think it might be bin Laden." It's just what he was thinking. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
