I have never seen her in anything other than The Truman Show. Is she devious in other roles?

I went into tonight's episode ready to cut it off for sure if it continued along the path of the second episode.

Third episode was MUCH, MUCH better. Still think the idea of two designated survivors is pretty ****ing stupid as it defeats the entire premise of the show right off the bat, and this "Maggie Q" is annoying as ****, but the episode itself was very entertaining.

Glad to hear the episode was much better than the last. I'll have to check it out On Demand as I missed it. As far as two Designated Survivors I think in real life it might make a lot more sense but for the TV show? Seems a little iffy.

I will watch the episode and give my thoughts before next week.

A designated survivor isn't fictitious and there's only one.

They fabricated a second one and I'm not sure why.

Yes I know they fabricated the 2nd one. I'm sorry if I made it sound like I didn't know about the real life Designated Survivor as I read up on it on Wikipedia before the series premiered.

Easily the best episode of the series.

There was a democratic and republican designated survivor this year.

Looks like it was the first time it's happened. So maybe the republican's nominated Orrin Hatch because he would be higher in the line of succession than whatever low ranking cabinet member was nominated on the democratic side? The only difference on the TV show side is they nominated someone who was lower than Jack Bauer on the list.

I think they've had two (one from each party) for some time. I read an article where even Sutherland was surprised at this (as was I). The wiki list you linked says "List of some designated survivors" and also shows two designated survivors for 2005 (Evans and Stevens) and 2006 (Nicholson and Stevens).

EDIT: Here's the link with Kiefer's quote:

                    TWO DS

The wife, son, and Maggie Q are really annoying but I enjoyed the episode.

This is just off the top of my head- the most annoying son of all time is.....

.....I'm sure there are worse, but that's the first thing that comes to mind...

Maggie Q's character is a snoozer...The wife's eyes seemed less big this episode and I thought she was less annoying.

Just binge watched the first 3 episodes. I really digging it. I love that even though he's playing a much less badass roll we still get to see a little Jack come out when he means business. I'm hooked. I'll watch tell they no longer make it.

Now we have a former head of CTU as the new general.

This is all coming full circle!

Really enjoyed the episode, I think it gave us a better idea of who the mole(s) might be.

Tonight's episode was great. This by far my favorite new show of the season. It looks like they will be branching out a bit with the military scenes and possibly some other stuff that might help with longevity.
