I feel like they're setting it up for them to eventually be close allies, or at least that is what I hope will happen.

See, I may be the only one who is very patient with these kinds of things. I couldn't care less if it took them five seasons to unite with one another. I know that audiences and networks alike are impatient and need to get the ball rolling, but I think that's what makes series' jump the shark way too soon as well. If they have nothing but time ahead of them, I like them to pace things out.

Of course, that's just me.

After awhile too much side chatter becomes a turnoff.

I understand. I just wish people were more patient with things.

I'm also hoping the show's glue isn't held together because of a possible strong bond the president can have with Maggie Q's character.

From a quick glance at ratings, it looks like they've gone down a little every week since the premiere but they're still decent compared to the rest of ABC. Unless it totally bombs by the end of this season, I could see them giving it another year.

I wouldn't get too attached. I have a feeling ABC will cut it after this season. It's in a prime money making spot and that spot seems to have been a revolving door for them.

Three days ago the Live + 7 rankings came in for the Oct 24-30 period and Designated Survivor ranked second. Overall it is ranked 20th in the 18-49 demographic (not to thrilled about The Blacklist's ratings). I'm no expert but I'd guess DS is not on life support.

I watch it. I like it but it's sort of dry. I wouldn't be sad if they didn't renew it but I'd watch the 2nd season.

We like it...very interested in the VP situation and Maggie Q! I only watched a few eps of 24 too, so not a follower of that.....

Same here, feel like I'm the only person on earth who never watched an episode of 24. I don't get the references you all have been talking about. The bright side is I don't have any preconceived notions.
