YTTV added the ability to go back to the last channel you were watching. That's a little, but nice addition.

Saw price quoted at $40-$50. Seems steep but I’d have to see the selection. That’s only a bit cheaper than a streaming TV subscription.

ESPN is also going direct to consumer streaming. Not ESPN+, but an ESPN channels streaming package. Yeah, totally not confusing and ridiculously for the consumer (I’m sure there’s a great business reason). I bet ESPN+ will roll in to that or vice versa eventually.

Not sure why they would announce that a day after announcing partnership with the others. Perhaps for those who want just a slice of what that app will be. $ needs to make sense.

ESPN has lost a lot of money. They are going to pay whatever it takes to get CFP and then they will need more revenue. ESPN needs to be able to offer their channels in a subscription in order to get that revenue. The problem is that it's probably going to be $25-35 a month just for ESPN channels. It's not worth it unless you watch nothing else, you should just get a full streaming service.

A la carte is bad because right now they get money for stuff nobody watches. With a la carte, they can't get money for the garbage so they increase the price for the stuff people watch.

MLB Channel is now on Hulu Live as part of their regular package. Hulu isn't too bad and includes ESPN+ and Disney+

Yeah, I am afraid of that too. Not sure how Hulu can offer MLB in their regular package and include ESPN and Disney whereas YTTV can't even have it in their sports package like FUBO.

Hmm, with hockey season over (so don’t need regional sports network as much), might be time to jump back to Sling from YTTV. I missed having MLB and NHL Network for when I just wanted to throw something on… and the extra $20-30 cheaper price tag.

Things change so frequently and each streamer has its own deals, hard to remember the give & take of each.

Hulu, ESPN, and Disney are all owned by the same company so they don't pay for those as part of Hulu Live. I guess that leaves extra money to pay MLB that YTTV doesn't want to spend

So now Netflix, Apple TV+ and Peacock are forming a package. I believe Disney, HBO and Hulu had announced something not long ago.

So cord cutting is basically getting back to Dish and Direct TV. Xfinity and Verizon. LOL.

Reminds me of the Frankenstein story and what created. Back in the day, we had it all, but it came with a price. We're getting to where to get it all, we'll be paying even more than in the day.

THE only advantage we have with any cordcutting is that we don't have that 2-year commitment, but I can just imagine what's around the bend.
