I REALLY disagree, but that's the point of the thread.

Cobain was the least talented in Nirvana
    Alice in Chains ownz Nirvana
Wu-tang is garbage...execpt GZA and Ghostface.
Nas has done nothing for rap since illmatic
Rakim doesn't get half the respect he does...he is the GOAT and forefather of hiphop.
2pac was one of the hardest working artist in history. He died at 24, yet he's still has tonnes of material.
Biggie lyrically could kill 2pac any day of the week.
Gunit is garbage...young buck is the only decent artist.
Emo is the worst form of ***** rock I've ever heard. Stop screaming and complaining and deal with your so called 'problems' like a man...or atleast do it artistically.
Punk music died when Sid Vicous Over-dosed.
Music today sucks balls, thank god for vinyl.

What genre of electronic do you enjoy? Any favorite DJ's? I like Sasha, Nick Warren, James Lauer (Chicago based), John Digweed, but the one cat who I think is gifted beyond belief is Christopher Lobsinger, a 17-year-old DJ/producer from San Francisco who is building a hell of a reputation in the house/proggy house scene.

i'm really wide range, i like goldie for jungle/drum and bass, to Baby Ann/Icey for break beats, i seen Tiesto, and man..unbelievable, BT as well. I like energy as well like Jon Bishop from California. And top dj's like van ****, carl cox are always fun. Too many to mention: Dj Micro, Qbert, Diesleboy, richard humpty vision are all awesome of course. its beena couple years since i really got into it

Wow, I feel like an idiot. I'm still a teenager and I just became a The Who fan recently... and when I looked to *ahem* "acquire" songs from them it popped up as "Teenage Wasteland" and since it was said in the song so many times I assumed that was the name and never really cared to look if it was different.

Tupac is not a great rapper. He had emotion, and that's it. Hand an average poetry reader a Red Bull, and you've got the next Tupac.

Nothing anybody says will ever make me think any different, so don't bother.

                Yeah right.

Nas has the greatest catalouge in hip-hop.

Nas is more than just Illmatic.

I Am is one of the most slept on classics in hip hop (undying love is one of the greatest hip hop songs ever).

Nastadamus is only considered bad because of the poppy singles and because its a Nas album (thus held to impossible standards), still it's better than 80% of the garbage out today.

Just cause Rakim was first doesn't mean he's the best.

Cool thread. My own scattered thoughts:

--Sid Vicious was the worst thing to happen to punk music.
--Bon Scott-era AC/DC was more punk than most punk bands
--The Who are the best rock band ever, musically and lyrically
--Guided by Voices was the best band of the 1990s
--In Utero was a much better album than Nevermind
--REO Speedwagon really wrote a lot of good songs
--Bruce Springsteen is the most overrated artist of all time
                        --Blink-182 are actually good songwriters
--Music today is better than it was 20 years ago, if you know where to look

Here's mine. Just one, but it's a big one.

Sam Cooke is the greatest R&B singer ever, which would make him the greatest singer in the history of modern music.

Better than Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Marvin Gaye(who I love but is a poor man's Sam Cooke), Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, or Aretha Franklin.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."
