Just called my Gamestop. The rep I spoke to said that "unfortunately" they're only getting 12 consoles on launch. I imagine that they must have taken well over 70 - 100 pre-orders, as I'm #37 and I pre-ordered back in June. What's up with that? If there's no shortage and it's all just a marketing-scheme by MS, then this makes little sense. The guy also said that after launch, they expect to get at least one - yes, one - console per week, and they hope to fill all their pre-orders by Christmas.

I don't live in a small-town or anything, so I don't know what gives. If all this is really true, then someone - could be MS, could be Gamestop, I don't know - but someone needs to sharpen up their business skills.

i live in durham too and unfortunately my preorder isn't gonna happen either. i hit up circuit city and they said that they'd be giving out tickets at around 7 am on the morning of release. i'm thinking that i might go that route and just get there really early. if you plan on camping out at any store let me know, it would be a lot better than doing it by myself.

Action Replay: 15 bucks
March Madness 06: 25 bucks
Mem Card: 10 bucks
Head set: 5 bucks

I put that all in a bundle and it makes 150 bucks. But I'm asking for Canadian Currency, so that makes 126.65 USD. I think that's preety reasonable, no? Shipping is 15 to North America, 20 to worldwide.

I'd say somebody will purchase that. One thing though, I think shipping for my xbox and 2 controllers alone was $16, so make sure you don't cut yourself too short and lose out on some of your profit. I'm not saying jack up shipping, but usually allow $16-18 for it

That's a good deal. I'd also add 5 bucks for shipping insurance.
I just sold a Gamecube, with 2 unopened games (MarioKart Double Dash and Super Monkey Ball), 2 controllers, and a memory card. Buy It Now for 80 bucks, plus 15 for shipping, and 5 for insurance. 100 in total. I was more than satisfied. I believe my shipping total, including insurance, was about 16 bucks.

meanign the cd's are in there..you can say there for show but they dont put wrapping on them

Yup, didn't even have to think about it. You have to insurance items that big or you and the buyer could get screwed royally if ever something happens to the package.

Nah, I'm disappointed, but I'm not going to camp out anywhere to get it. It very well may not be Gamestops fault, but nonetheless I feel like they shouldn't be getting my business in this manner. If I can pick it up somewhere else without any craziness before Gamestop can provide me with one, then I'll get it and get my pre-order refunded. If the only other way to get one is by camping out for 6 hours though, then I'll just have to wait.

Online pre-ordering ?

Just curious as to how many pre-ordered online & when. I pre-ordered from Gamestop.com (Silver Bundle) on October 8th. Everything appears to ship on or before launch day except for Oblivion which has been bumped back to 1/31/06.

With all this talk about shortages has anyone that's pre-ordered online been informed of getting there 360 in a shipment not falling on the day of the official launch?

just called my gamestop, bastards couldn't even find my pre-order. I started freaking out and was about to curse. So I looked up the location again. Guess what, I called the wrong f'n store...lol! They have 2 gamestops on MacArthur Blvd here in Irving. I was like, "I called there a couple weeks back and they found my reservation!" Dude was like, I see your name in the system where you preordered something before but no 360 reservation! I finally said, where are you? He's like we're south of LBJ Freeway. I look at the locations again and saw that I'm calling the wrong MacArthur Blvd location...lol! So I apologize for nearly cussing the guy out.

I called the correct location and was told I'm one of the first persons on the list. He said they will be able to fill all the pre-orders.

not sure, he just said those that pre-ordered first will get theirs. This particular location is pretty obscure with low traffic and it hasn't been open that long.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to get rid of my xbox, and I can't really decide. It has been acting up lately, with the drive having problems. This mostly affects the sound (kinda sounds like a cd skipping in the car) and it only lasts half a second. I'm afraid to sell this on ebay because I would be worried about the negative feedback. Its looking like I might have to just bite the bullet and sell the box back to EB for $60 and then sell everything else (games, wireless controller, 2 s-controllers, action replay) on ebay.
