Back when the ps2 came out my EB got 20 units and that was with 150 preorders and its located in major city.

My Gamestop is allegedly getting 12 units after taking over 120 pre-orders as well. I'm in one of the biggest college city's on the east coast. As of this point, this is obviously a pattern that alot of people are experiencing. Just doing some quick math . . .

12 units with over 120 preorders = 10% of pre-orders fulfilled on launch.

Now let's say that only the first 60 people who pre-ordered should reasonably have believed that they'd get in on launch (I'm #37 and I preordered back in June - and was continuously told I'd much more likely than not get it on launch). . .

12 units with 60 preorders = 20% of pre-orders.

So - just using this quick (and thus, not accurate, but possibly close to accurate) math:
80% of people who pre-ordered at Gamestops and had a reasonable expectation of getting a unit on launch will be disappointed.

Regardless of whose fault it is, that's a hell of a lot of disappointed customers. Yikes.

If there's a shortage it's from the BS online bundles. It's insulting that those of us who preordered months ago don't get the 360 at launch, but someone else can come along and let Gamestop gouge them for one of their ridiculous bundles. I will do everything within my power to not spend a dime at any Gamestop ever again.

From what I've read, if you need to return your premium system, they will let you keep your harddrive. The stores probably just swap it out with the new system that they give you and send the old system and blank harddrive back to MS.

I had never heard that. Sounds intriguing.

My concern for ThaGenecyst is that I don't want to lose my HD if I trade my 360 in every 2 years when using the warranty.

Yeah. If you buy a warranty, you might as well take your xbox back right before the warranty ends and get a new one. Then buy a new warranty.

Yeah. If you buy a warranty, you might as well take your xbox back right before the warranty ends and get a new one. Then buy a new warranty.

are your really going to keep going back to the store every two years and say my xbox 360 broke again. Warrany or know warrnty after the first two time in the same store, you might get well you broke it and it nots covered.

Heads Up Reward Zone Members...Best Buy Online Pre-Order X360 11/9

Starting at 10 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, November 9, Best Buy is offering select Reward Zone members the opportunity to pre-order what is sure to be one of the hottest products of the holiday season — the next next-gen Xbox 360 gaming system.

Check with anyone you know that has a Reward Zone card to see if they got the e-mail...if so, they are eligible for the pre-order. I got my e-mail today, but it doesn't give any details on what they are offering or for what price.

are your really going to keep going back to the store every two years and say my xbox 360 broke again. Warrany or know warrnty after the first two time in the same store, you might get well you broke it and it nots covered.

Warranties don't work that way. If you claim it malfunctioned then they have to replace it. 2nd, they aren't going to remember me once every 2 years.

360 Core System Question.

do u all think that gamestop and electronics boutique have core systems that we can reserve right now. i was thinking with all the credit i have built up at these stores that i get the core system and use my credit towards getting the wireless controller, hd hookups or s-video cables, and hard drive? what do u all think....thanks fellas and hell, only a few more weeks till the xbox 360!!!!!!

hey you never know. Also Are you really going to say there is somthing wrong with it every 2 years, do you not think the system with last or still work after 2years?

Did it give any indication why you were selected, or is it totally random? Sigh. I pre-ordered in early June, and now it looks like I'm not going to be able to get my 360 till after Christmas. Played the every10minutes game a ton, went to TRU (too late), and now I don't get any love from Best Buy either.

If anyone who already has their 360 lined up gets a Best Buy pre-order slot that they don't want, I'd love a hook up.
