"what was the last SNK or Atari game which any of you purchased???"
Indigo Prophcey and I considered getting Driver Parrell Lines.
Here's an article mostly about cancelled PS3 games,1 360 game and a few that were supposed to be on both and why the've been done way with: http://www.technophilia.org/2006/07/...ps3-games.html
"EA has significanly reduced PS3 developement in favor of it's competitors. Atari and SNK are holding off on making games for the PS3 until 2007 and 2009. Ubisoft has stated that the PS3's price must drop if they want to compete, but have nothing but praise for the Wii. Many in the industry believe Nintendo's innovative console will have mass market appeal when it launches before the PS3 for less than $250. Existing GameCube development practices translate well to the similar Wii architecture, allowing development costs to be 1/3 that of the other guys. Microsoft is also in the business of trimming production costs. When the XNA Framework is fully implemented, identical game code will run on both PC and 360. John Carmack, the man behind Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake believes the Xbox 360 has "far and away the best development tools." Hiromichi Tanaka of Square Enix remarked that porting Final Fantasy XI to the 360 was a fairly quick task while a PS3 version would need to be started from scratch, a 2-3 year process.
Sony has previously relied on its dominant brand name to attract developers, but that may not be enough this time around. The recent resignation of Sony's Developer Relations Manager and a Top PR executive shows that Sony may be having problems managing developer relations and/or sinking public opinion. Developers are not keen on the difficulty of PS3 development and often complain about lack of support. The high cost of PS3 development, the low install base, and the problems with bluray all lead to one problem: the PS3 may have a small library of games."Comment

PS3 to Accept PS2 Saved Games
Use of a new peripheral will allow next-gen system to use current-gen saves.

Originally posted by MisfitI called that one. If the peripheral isn't too expensive, then it will be a worthwhile purchase for PS3 owners as it will allow them to put their PS2 to rest.
I can't wait to get this machine. Aside from all the Blu-Ray stuff, it has alot of other priceless little things that other consoles don't have. I think it'll go for prolly $30? If that?
This information means I can sell my PS2 and all the accessories once I get PS3 since it'll be 100% BC. Would be much easier on my pocketsLast edited by Ice Cream Truck; 08-04-2006, 11:15 PM.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

PS3 preorders....
im from canada, and im not sure if pre orders are allowed to be done yet but im sure ive waisted too much time waiting...
regardless, when ps2 came out it was like 600$ cdn im pretty sure yet ppl rushed to get it and on the classifieds in the newspaper it showed ppl selling for over 2000!?!
so doesnt it just make sense to pre order two, like me one and my bro another, and then sell it cuz u'll basically pay off the 1st one anyways?PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: PS3 preorders....
Yeah, alot of people on this site hate that stuff (well they hated it with 360. But alot plan on doing it with PS3 from what I've seen).
I prolly will do it though. It won't reach $2000 though. Prolly $1000.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

So much for Blu-Ray
Sony's Harrison: 'Amazed' if PS4 Has a Disc Drive
What about these Blu-Ray discs, then?

This just in: Blu-Ray is dead.
Pardon the hyperbole, but with senior Sony executives speculating that the PS4 (yes, you read that right) may not use a disc format as the company is at the cusp of rolling out future proof technology, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement of the proprietary disc format's staying power.
Phil Harrison told Wired that he would be "amazed if the PS4 has a physical disk drive." In fairness, Harrison was talking about the emergence of electronic distribution (something Sony's mastermind Ken Kutaragi has championed previously), but that doesn't change the back-handed slap to the Blu-ray format.
The likelihood of being done with disc media after this console cycle (yes, the one that is about to finally begin sometime this fall) seems a bit much -- the feasibility of downloading complete experiences like Halo 3 is severely limited by Internet availability and access.Comment

Sounds like much ado about nothing. He's speculating on a console more than 5 years away. And yeah, if things turn out the way Herrison wants them to then there would be no Blu Ray on the PS4, but there also wouldn't be a DVD drive. Are we to assume DVD will be dead come then as well?! Seriously, some of you guys will eat up anything.Comment

However, I'd be somewhat concerned if I was to buy a PS3 while Harrison made that statement. If Blu-Ray is all Sony says it's cracked up to be then they should be backing it 110%. Isn't it supposed to replace the DVD? So, if it is gone in '5 years or so', according to Sony, then why such a major stake in Blu-Ray now?
It seems their whole organization is in complete disarray.Comment
