What the hell is the point of a preorder if it doesn't mean that you will get one at launch?

This is why am not getting my hopes up to high. If i get it, good. If not, fine. I can wait. I've waited this long.

No. It turned up like that because of a shortage, wasn't planned. This is planned, don't know why but it is.

Hey guys...I have a question about the PS3.

Is there any word as to how PS2 games will look on the system?

As a current gen xbox owner I would be psyched to be able to play games like Okami, God of War, etc...on a PS3 if they were touched up to look nice on HDTVs. Would help me through the first 6 months where game selection is a bit thin.

Anybody know?

Maybe, my reading comprehension has gotten worse as I age. I'm sure the email I received from gamestop, simply stated that Pre orders are being accepted but only for a limited time because of limited supplies. Once the pre-orders reach its launch capacity i.e. 12 systems those persons are assured a PS3. The PS3 pre order is on a 1st come 1st serve basis so those early birds fortunate to be in the top 7 to 10 people are more than likely to get a PS3. After that, you'll be on a waiting list for shipments.

Thats how I comprehend this information?

It wasn't supposed to but the game stores started selling 360's that were already preordered.

As we cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch.

well I heard Sony will be shipping units every week so people are still somewhat guaranteed.

anyways, I think it should just be first come first serve. screw preorders. Let the madness begin! LOL

That's funny. My buddy went at 7:30 and was third in line. I would think this would guarantee him one. If I didn't have to work I would have gone with him. I would have felt kind of bad though, I only intend to sell it if I get one.

Manhattan Mall NYC sold 12 units. I was 14th in line. I got there at about 7:45. This is whats funny. There was a older lady(60 to 65 yrs old) standing in line at number 12. I'm thinking of going to the store on Nov.17 and doing a Jerry Seinfeld on her. Remember the marble rye. lol.

3rd in line at 8:30 am, Gamestop was taking 8 pre-orders and 8 people showed up. Kinda' weird. Oh well, got the premium pre-ordered along with Madden and NBA 2k7. Will be nice to have with these normally long, cold winters here in Northeast Ohio.

MS said the same thing with the 360 and look what happened.
