Far be it from me to judge how you play your game. Whatever is fun for you is all that matters. I like the darkness of the dungeons and caves though, it makes them feel like...dungeons and caves. I hate night eye though, I just use my torches and light on self spells/items.

but be careful on when you use the light spells. if you are trying to sneak around, don't use it. I actually played for hours wondering why I couldn't sneak up on anyone, then finally realized the helm I was using had a constant effect light spell. I felt so dumb.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Man...I popped in Oblivion about a month ago and was storming the countryside late at night in the area where you get the dagger for your 1st Dark Brotherhood Quest. There were some fierce trolls in the area, and they just so happened upon me as I was seeing my first ever unicorn in the game....bastards....one of them ended up killing me and I never got a chance to do anything further w/ the unicorn. Don't you get something for killing the unicorn, or isn't there a questline associated w/ it?Last edited by JBH3; 09-02-2010, 04:23 PM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
yeah, I'm not a fan of night eye in Oblivion either. it was much better in Morrowind.

Yeah on my stealth toon I don't use light on self, I use detect life and will switch a night eye item on and off just to make sure I'm not trying to shoot through a wall. On my paladin and warrior types though, I don't care who sees me. I'm lighting it up, going around corners and busting through doors with reckless abandon.PS: You guys are great.

I'm a vampire now and I hate it. Now I have to go do that long and stupid quest to reverse my vampire abilities. I miss the daylight...http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

You can get arround that, just go to someone who is sleeping, approach them, then select the Feed option that appears. You'll revert back to stage one of Vampirism and are able to go out into the light again.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Originally posted by DakkoN;The best dungeon for armor is called Rockmilk Cave. It is to the north of Leyawin. You can make a quick run through the cave, killing all the bandits for a ton of gear, run out as fast as possible and then quick travel away from it, wait 2 or 3 days and then fast travel back to the cave and everything will be respawned.
Rockmilk Cave is a cave north of Leyawiin, right behind the Water's Edge settlement. This cave is a great place to find Black bows, which will give a good profit when given to Count Marius Caro. The main section of the cavern with a main path branching into multiple rooms. The cavern is laden with Bandits and Marauders throughout the cavern doing battle with each other. Also, there are two dead Bandits in the first room. One is under the Rock Fall Trap. Another is on a bed to the right of...
The best dungeon for accessories (rings, amulets, etc.) is Greenmead Cave. It's on the road between the Imperial City and Skingrad. You can find a TON of amazing amulets and rings in here, especially if you're higher level so that the better gear shows up. Same for Rockmilk.

I changed my mindset and totally revived my interest in this game. My mindset on this character is to damn the majority of the quests and dungeon crawl. I got the castle from one of the add ons and try to dungeon crawl to gain money to get it back in shape. If I find something in a dungeon that obviously is tied to a quest I will research it in reverse to let the dungeons lead me to the quests instead of the other way around.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
This thread always makes me want to go back and replay this game. I had so much fun with this title. Granted, the time isn't there that I once had to play it, but this is still probably the most amazing game that I've ever played.
Some of the stories like my horse & the bum still make me laugh to this day.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
LMAO. Thats why you gotta put your horse in the stable.
This just happened to me last night actually. Its a story about escaping death.
I'm riding on my horse to Bravil when I see the beautiful watefall. I try to get close but realize I needed to go along a path to get closer to it. While I'm in amazment over the waterfall, this Minituar came out of nowhere to attack. It was so swift that the battle music did'nt start until he landed the first blow. After peeing on myself, I dismounted and I ran to find a nice big rock to scale to get away from his blows and I was gonna arrow him to death. I found a rock about 30 yards away and hopped on top of it. I got up there, turned around and .....where'd that bastard go.
Next thing you know I hear my house scream and he's over there slaughtering my horse. My horse can usually take care of him self but not against this massive, beast-human with one horn cut off like he's gangbanging. I sprint to my trusty steed and by the time I get there, its too late. He hits my horse and it decides to run off. The Minatuar gave chase and I was right behind chasing the minatuar.
He was damn near the exact same speed as me so I could'nt close in. My horse was loose about 20 yards ahead of everybody. (I can just hear the benny hill music going on) I cant catch this bastard. We run about 300 yards chasing eachother and then I see my horse go over a hill, the minatuar goes over the hill and when I reach the top of the hill...WTF, they disappeared?!?! I looked around and found no sign of them. Pulled a ghost move on me. *DAMN*
So while I'm looking around, I see this yellow glowing substanse suspended in air right next to this cave. I had no clue what it was so I look to investigate. When I get right next to it, this thing shoots off some magic and drains my Willpower. Battle music starts back up. I try to smash this thing with my mace and no regular weapons will hurt him. Not thinking, I forgot all about my fire, frost and shock spells and decide to pull out my Bow Of Sparks. Now I'm running in circles shooting this thing with arrows and its floating around, shooting magic, disapperaing and reappearing in my face. As I'm spinning around, I see this Black Bear in the corner of my eye....
...Soon as I see the Bear, I hit it. I sheathed my weapon and ran like a *****. I thought I was able to dodge the yellow glowing thingy cause I did'nt see him. So I'm now able to focus on the bear. I merc that bastard and the yellow glowing thingy was there all along, smacking me in the back of the head. I whip the bow back out and we get back to out Square Dance of Death. After getting this thing's energy half way down, this F****** Moutain Lion comes from the woodworks.....
Now for those of you who dont know, Moutain Lions will kick your *** if you're not carefull. You cant outrun them(with Heavy armor anyway) and they take at least 30 points per hit. I got smacked once, almost died and ran for it. I'm sucking down potions, using my weak *** Heal spell and tryna dodge the attacks at the same time. I still got that ******* yellow ghost thing chasing as well as the lion. I get some good licks in on the lion and manage to kill him with hardly no enegy left.
Now its back down to the yellow floating mass of nothingness. We continue where we left off and I swear it looked like his enegy was going back up. Actually it was'nt but it was taking me forever. After 10 minutes of dancing with this thing, it dies, 2 game hours have passed, its 3AM and I'm smack dab in the middle of nowhere and my horse is dead for all I know.
Good times.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
On a side topic, what are your funniest/most memorable moments of the game so far? CAUTION ***MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***********
Mine? I went into the sewers with Baurus, and I hear him draw his swords and yell, "you'll never take me alive"... I seen what he was running after... a rat, lol.
The next one, he yelled "Cover my back!" and it was just a mudcrab.
Then, finally, I was in another room fighting a goblin, and after I finished it off, I heard him yell out "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!".. I went to help him kill "it", he was hitting a barrel, lol.
---------------------------------------
Next one, I was in an oblivion gate with Burd (Captain) and one of the Daedric Warriors knocked his sword off somehow, so he was left without a sword. I was sneaking up the hallway, and was getting ready to get a critical hit on one of those guys, when all of the sudden he just comes yelling and starts trying to punch the guy, lol... one good slash of a claymore and he was knocked unconscious. It was hilarious.
------------------------------------
Lastly, I was fighting the "Skooma" guys in their little cabin, and I killed the first one, and didn't see where he landed, so I just kept fighting the other one. I finally took him down and just died laughing at how he fell. The first guy fell and was bent of the chair, and the other guy fell right on top of him, so it looks like they were going at it... it was a bit Brokeback Mountain-ish :y4:Twitter - WTF_OS

Yeah man I've been around, I just don't frequent all the boards I used to as much. It's Graphik himself who's really been out of pocket.
This game, like I said earlier, won't go away for me until they release the next one. I can always get right back into it.PS: You guys are great.
