Oblivion 360 DLC Discounts, with a Twist

Bethesda is offering 50% off all Oblivion's Xbox 360 downloadable content to celebrate the third anniversary of its first DLC release--with one notable exception.

As a delightful April Fools' Day escapade, the infamous and much-maligned Horse Armor Pack will cost twice as much. If you hated the idea before, you'll love it now.

The discounts will run for the next week and range from a teensy 40 Microsoft Points off the Spell Tomes pack to a giant 1200 Point saving on the Shivering Isles expansion.

          Bump.

I said before that I couldn't play this game with a new character, but I was wrong. It's an all new game on the pc with all the mods. Man, it's great. For you guys who only played it on the consoles, if you liked it there, you'll love it on the PC. The amount of great mods out there is simply staggering. This entire weekend of mine will be totally wasted with football and Oblivion.

What mods are there? which one do you use?

I never beat this game on the 360 and have heard that the PC version is awesome with the right mods...but haven't tried it yet.

I'm getting mine from this spot: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com I am using a few that add new weapons and armors to the game to be found, new quests and guilds, and environmental improvements. Also using some gameplay tweaks. One that lets you denock arrows, and another that disables creatures from leveling with you at a certain point.

Best two out there IMO is the OOO and MMM mods. Plus i have a few for my thief/assassin character that mods arrows and stealth.

Getting unique landscapes is a great one too...but its a resource hog. I had to delete them and get some texture and lighting mods. There's one out there that has every torch as a light source, combine that with darker night and darker dungeon mods...

Yeah I am installing OOO today. MMM still intimidates me a bit. It's gonna be a lot tougher for me this go round'. I feel so weak. My 360 toon was decked out and rich. This new one is poorly geared and homeless.

PC all the way man. I played it and beat it on the 360 but I am wishing I had it for the PC all along. Really, the mods are the difference, a HUGE difference.

Please, elaborate on some of the must have mods? Trying to make my decision here, but I have no idea what type of mods would make it worth buying for the PC.

Well, like I said, there mods that add more game content like more guilds, quests, houses, dungeons, weapons etc. For example, here's the trailer for Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO):

                            <object height="344" width="425">

                            <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LBKjLxVJKRg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></object>

Check out this site for more, there are seriously too many to mention here. Only you can decide which are worth it to you. If you've played the game before I am sure you will see something that would convince you though.

                            Planet Elder Scrolls

If you just really want to play it on a console though, then go ahead. I didn't really have a choice when the game came out because the computer I had at the time couldn't handle the game. It's still a great game on the consoles, but with the mod community, the PC counterpart just blows it out of the water imo.

Oblivion is one game I have not put down since I got it. I've had it since it came out. Still play it. Originally played it for 360 but then I wanted to get some of those mods and what not, so I invested in a better video card and got the PC version.
The mods make this game wayyy more fun and add a bunch of new twists.(like weird spells haha) plus on PC you got the command console, so manipulation is pretty easy and fun.
