I'm sure you can contract vampirism again, but as long as you're not oblivious to the fact that you've contracted porphyric hemophilia (what the game calls it), then you just pop a cure disease potion and rid yourself of it on the spot. I always take a few CD potions before going adventuring. If it's within the first 3 days, there are tons of ways to rid yourself of it.

Yea... I was oblivious to it.

        Game: "You have contracted PH"
Me: "That sounds bad." *does nothing*
        Game: "You're having bad dreams"
Me: "That sounds bad." *does nothing*
        Game: "You are a vampire"
        Me: "Wtf!"

Some of the vampire powers are very cool though... too bad it's just a giant pain in the !@# to have to keep feeding. Is there any way to fill up a ton of vials with blood so I can pop one of those when need be? I know they exist since the vampire in the DB gave me one...

Even if you do become a Vampire, the old witch will now be able to cure you at any time. She should've told you that at the end of the quest.

Question for you guys. Maybe I am rushing through the game, I don't know. I am trying to close the first Oblivian gate, but am only a level 2. I am finding it tough. Should I level up some and then go try to close it, or does that not matter. I need to buy some potion, but I can't find any. Any help? Thanks!

I didn't even touch the main quest til I was about level 9. As far as potions, you could go to the Gilded Caraffe in Imperial City, or any mages guilds.

Don't forget to use the 'rest' option when possible. Just rest an hour and you'll be all healed up.

                Question of the day.

I want a horse (the $5000 Black fast horses). I have no money.

What is the QUICKEST way to make some bank. I keep seeing a loading screen that says ask for rumors and you may find a huge treasure... anyone found that one yet?

                I need some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ !!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know if you are part of the Mage's Guild or not, but I recently completed a quest for Count Hassiludus (sp?), and for a reward, he gave me 25,000 Gold, lol. I did it when I was a level 16. Reports are that the higher your level when you do it, the better pay you get... I was stoked, lol.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion

I've found that character level doesn't factor into the equation much when going through the main quest. It's tough at level 2 for your character, it may be tough at level 10. It's all about the strategy and maximizing your strength while minimizing your weaknesses.

As a fighter, it was easy...cast light, waltz into the horde and just swing away. Block/counter if need be, and just basically tear **** up.

As a thief character, I NEEDED to remain hidden and get the first shot off using sneak attack. If I didn't, it was going to be a rough fight...don't even bother trying to go toe to toe with multiple opponents until you level your blade/block up higher. My early levels were spent with melee and my thief became incredibly powerful later on. Sneak/Blade/Block/Acrobatics were very high, and I could kill hordes of guards and pretty much anything I came across just by jumping around like a jackrabbit and blocking/countering. But early on, you really need to rely on the stealth.

As a mage, I've grown accustomed to sneaking a bit as well. You don't get the sneak attack damage, but casting a night eye and life detect works wonders for the combat strategy. I've seen rooms with 4 guys and then moved a bit quicker than normal; one comes to investigate and I'll hide around a corner, using a touch spell to roast them in one shot. Get it down to 1 or 2 guys and I can pop out with fireballs and ranged attacks. Just can't let multiple guys get close to me with no armor or ability in hand to hand combat.

It really is tough no matter what you play if you play the character in a way that doesn't maximize your skill set. Level doesn't mean as much with the level scaling, but strategy does. That's not to say that you're not playing strategically now; it just means that almost every time I've run into a very tough spot, a slight pause and more methodical trudging through the area has yielded better results for me every time.

Yea, and dont be afraid to drink those wines and skooma. The boost in stregnth works wonders in the heat of battle.
