Thats cool. I dont know why I'm so worried. 80+ hours is great. Plus there is the infinite replay value remaking characters.

Down in the basement of one of my homes, there is a portal. Where would that lead? I can't use it yet for some reason... just wondering.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Originally posted by WTFWhat increases alteration, etc? That's what I need so I can use some of my spells. Some of the more powerful. I know the main Attribute that governs it is Willpower or Intelligence I think... So I guess I just need to "up" those categories huh? Will the subcategories follow suit?
If you really want to level it up, just stand somewhere, cast a few ease burdens, rest....cast a few more, rest...etc. I try not to "beat the system" to level it up, but I'll cast a few useless spells here and there if I'm running through the hills or something. I chalk it up to "practice"Comment

I'm trying to use my "Use Major Heal" or something like that... but I have to have something up to 25... I can't recall. I want to get it up there, so I can use it. You think casting "Ease Burden" Quite a few times will do the trick?Twitter - WTF_OS

Yeah, I guess my questin is how do I "up" those categories? Such as Restoration, Alteration, etc? I'm not worried about water walking, because I have an amulet that lets me do that. But I do want to up my restoration and such. Will standing still and just using the "Heal Minor Wounds" spell over and over work?Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Exactly. Cast spells from that line. Go to your character tab where you can look at your skills and there's a bar showing your progress to the next level in that skill. Cast spells that make it jump the most possible. Using spells from any given line always improves that particular line. Some spells have minimal effect (or don't work at all, like casting an open lock at nothing)...same with swinging a sword at nothing. Doesn't give you improvement unless you are actually doing something. That's why I choose the ease burden spells...lots of magicka used up, but it serves a purpose every time.Comment

Question for those who have explored the later stages of this game....is a pure mage build viable throughout the entire game as you level?Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
What purposes do the training facilities serve then? Especially the one at Arcane University? I figured that you could probably stand there and practice, and maybe it would work. But I'm not sure.
I can't freakin wait to get home. We're on spring break next week, so I won't have to do jack during the days, at nights I still have classes, but I'm gaming all week long. I can't wait.Twitter - WTF_OS
