Pretty cool as long as they don't go overboard and still continue to make real Wii games.
No question it will continue to make original and new Wii games. I think the "Wiimakes" of GameCube games and the availability of NES and SNES games through the Virtual Console -- which could be fun as hell -- are the Big N's answer to the Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace.

I'm quite excited about the "Wiimakes" and the Virtual Console.

    Take care,

I'm starting to not feel the Wii as much as I was in the beginning. The talk of remaking Cube games, or the lack of games being announced or worked on worries me. The system is coming out in a little over 2 months, you'd think we could get some info from Nintendo. For right now, I think I am going to pass on the Wii though.

I think the system will take off and sell like hotcakes when Mario Galaxy shows up.

What till they sell zillions at launch, then you'll be seeing companies announcing games left, right and center.

At the same time, for me it's going to go hand in hand with my 360. A nice bunch of games to play for a different experience and different fun, especially for parties and with my other half.

I think this is the most anticipated console for me ever.

I think i'll get it and that's if it comes in @ $199, is because it will play my Gamecube games and it's smaller than the GC. I also plan on picking up Zelda to take advantage of the new controller.

I want to believe that, and I like what I've seen of the Wii, but the same was said for Super Mario Sunshine for the Cube. The Cube still didn't move.

Good points, but alot of gamers were expecting a Mario 64 clone, I actually liked Mario Sunshine. The wild card for Mario Galaxy is the new controller and I think Nintendo will bring Mario back to it's roots.

What's great is that both the little ones and myself can enjoy this machine. I have gotten some great mileage out of my cube and (especially since I purchased mine when it reallly dropped in price) have no regrets. The launch titles seem stellar and I wish they would announce the damn date soon or else:

I'm not sure what you mean by "lack of games being announced or worked on." There are 27 games set for release in the launch window, from a variety of third-party developers and publishers, including EA, THQ and UbiSoft:

It's a pretty solid launch lineup, if you ask me.

                          MMM...best overall launch ever? Possibly.

I have to second the motion that I haven't been this excited for a launch in a while...not since the DC

                            $170 : http://wii.ign.com/articles/726/726803p1.html

I'm still excited about the Wii. I probably will wait till Xmas to get one though. Probably get one for Heel Jr for Xmas and then hog it from him.

The WII doesn't interest me, but I sure hope it does well. I'm hoping to see Wii-style control options ported over for MS camera buyers.

                                Matt from IGN

Don't pass out or anything. This is really JUST a rumor at this point and we have no reason to believe it's true. But that said, one of the things floating around GC 2006 right now is that Nintendo may announce a new Kid Icarus for Wii.

Again, a rumor. R-U-M-O-R. And it's more likely to be false than not, which is why I'm merely posting it to the boards right now.

                                Say it with me: Rumor.

Good. Now that we have that out of the way, sure would be pretty cool if it could, by some chance, turn out to be true.
