Sharp 37" LCD40U- Amazing, amazing picture...Response time of 6 ms (not that these numbers mean much, but no real ghosting effects).

In the U.S., I think you're looking at $2299 for the set.

Perfect for my living room because it gets a tonne of light. My wife and I decided not to put up blinds at all, so having an LCD is great because you won't get any reflections on the screen.

Yea they did extend it b/c the same thing happen to me...I was playing MLB 2K6 and the game froze and I just thought I had the "MLB Glitch" problem....But no I started playing GRAW online and after I finished a match and was going back to the lobby, I got a "checkered board" screen....MMMMh....Ok... then I turned off my XBOX, turned it back on then Damien was sitting in my room...He said, "you see those 3 red rings, your 360 is dead"....LOL!!! But I called Microsoft and they gave me the same run around that they gave "NXT" and said they were going to send me that empty box.....Sooooooo now i waiting for it so I can get my refurbished or new 360!!!

Hey man just do what I did....I bought a fan from CVS that has a wall mount, let it blow right into your 360...I still have to send mine back b/c it was fried before I got the fan...but the fan keeps all your components cool not just your 360!!!

When did yours die? Mine died Saturday, and they wanted to give me the run around. Then this woman tells me they extended it to 6 months, and I was 12 days out of warranty. Asked for her supervisor, and now am waiting on my box to come for repair/replacement free of charge.

Re: HELP! My 360 just died... what can I do?

I said I was done with this thread...but I lied.

I called again on Monday, spoke with another CSR and his supervisor. Explained my issue. I was told that they exended the 90-day warranty another 90 days for launch systems (don't know how they confirm this unless they require receipt confirmation that the systems were purchased on November 22nd) plus there is a 10 day grace period. They are sending me a box for return, repair, and replacement. I hope this goes alot smoother... though I doubt it. I've been reading boards on all of the XBOX sites and it sounds like some people are on their 2nd and 3rd returns, which sounds like a pain in the @ss. It doesn't sound like they've got a grasp on all of thei issues and glitches with the system yet.

BTW, they also told me that after my XBOX is repaired and they send it back to me, I'll have another 90-day warranty and a chance to purchase the extended warranty once again. Woo-hoo... (sarcasm)

Anyways, I literally counted the days for the "warranty" - which should be 180 days plus 10 grace days for launch systems. The 180th day is May 21st. and the 10 grace period ends today, May 31st. So if you've purchased a system at launch, I think today is the last day to file your claim (unless you've purchased the extended 1 or 2 year warranty).

Good luck to everyone else out there. It's been a pain in the @ss to deal with. I still believe a company should stand behind their product, especially when they release a defective product. It's obvious that M$ knows that many of the systems that were released are defective, hence the extension of the warranty period for launch systems.

It's still like, less than 3% of all systems purchased, though. I think you'll find that percentage consistant with just about any other electronic device.

They'll get you straightened out. They wound up sending me a brand new system instead of fixing my old one. No problems with it yet (knock on wood).

Sounds like MS is taking care of you, a customer. CS can be a pain in the rear do deal with on all products, including electronics.

                      Good luck with your system.

I spoke with M$ today to confirm that a box has already been sent to me. They found my repair order number and told me I should get it either Friday or Monday... so we'll see. They gave me a repair order number last Monday, so if I get a box tomorrow or Monday, it'll have been a week to receive the box (coffin) after calling in.

I spoke with someone in the Hardware Dept. this time. He told me that it will be about 8 business days before I get my 360 returned, and I could call to check on the status and they will also provide tracking number when it is returned.

If all goes according to plan, I should be getting back a 360 by end of June or beginning of July. * crosses fingers *

I need this bad boy back before NCAA comes out!

My xbox 360...has been doing the exact samething as Holics and nxt. I called M$ today and complained...they tried to give me a run around...I wouldn't take it. I went to the supervisor only for him to be an even bigger moron. So now, they wont send me a box to repair my xbox and they want me to pay $159 + shipping for me to get it fixed which is a load. So I told him I want to speak to his manager and he said no. So now, I went to microsoft themeslves and I am waiting for a phone call from Microsoft head guy.

Also, this dude told me that the implied warranty doesn't work against their warranty, which is wrong.

The dude I talked was a guy named "Jeremy" ...He pissed me off so now I am going to get a lawyer and fight this for every single broken down xbox 360 if microsoft doesn't help me.

Oh yeah and I am 10 days out of my warranty

I called in Saturday afternoon, and still nothing. Planning on calling them after I eat tonight. I go on vacation June 11th, looks like I'll have to pay someone to come by everyday to check and see if the box or Xbox360 is here.

I just called, my box is IN TRANSIT for delivery on 6/02/06 which is tomorrow. I'll try and get it back out to them Friday afternoon. I doubt I'll get it back before I leave for vacation, but I'm hoping.
