Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
Nintendo confirmed today that 4 million units will be available for launch and they intend to provide a steady stream after that. IOW there's no reason to wait in line, drop by any retailer and should find one that day.Comment

4 million for launch? Really? Last I heard it was 4 million by the end of the year.

Wal-Mart Wii Bundle (Preorder)
$533.36 for the bundle.
Includes the Wii system with extra Wii-mote, Wii-chuck, Wii points card, and four games.
The preorder has only been listed and hasn't been available yet. Personally I think its a bit much and will skip out on this preorder.

Whats everybody think of that site? Is it really your best bet to buy a system online the day of the launch?

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
You could always call or swing by Wal-Mart after you get out of work on Saturday. If you can't get one there then you'd likely have to go to another retailer that opens in the morning and hang out in cold, dark, morning. If you absolutely have to have one I think you can get one, it just depends on how far you're willing to go. Despite the high number of units available in comparison with the PS3, it will sell out (the N64 sold out its shipment of 1 million on launch day 10 years ago) and after launch day you'll have to play the game of calling various retailers to find out when the next shipment comes and getting there before they open their doors on that day.Comment

No doubt. I'm thinking my best bet if the 24hr WM doesn't work out is the K-Mart in town, since afterall, it is K-Mart.

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
For those that have "camped out" at a 24hour Wal-Mart, how do they set up launch? I know my local one had some lawn chairs set out last year for the 360 release, but thats all I know.

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
A friend of mine camped out at wal-mart last year and they had a line setup in the store, but they gave the tickets out between 10 and 11 in the morning and everyone was allowed to leave and come back at midnight to pick up there systems.Comment

That'd be sweet.

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
It's rather cold here in Chicago compared to last year when I camped out for the 360 launch at a Best Buy that was doing a midnight launch. It's much colder YTD, and I'm not doing that again with it getting much colder this year.
I'll just get up early and hit up a few stores. If there are going to be 1-2 million at launch w/ 4 million by the end of the year, this system should not be too hard to get a hold of I hope.Comment
