You have to unlock Insane though unless online lets you bypass that. I know my next time through will be Co-Op on insane.

Played some more SP today, and I'm in love. Wow am I sucked into this game. I feel like I'm part of a movie.

The scene where the Seargent or whover gets sliced up in slo mo was awesome. After you retreat back into the building before the Berserker my heart was pounding. You really feel like you're there.****

You really owe it to yourself to get this game. Play on hardcore, take your time and enjoy it. My wife was actaully watching me and into it. She was amazed and she hates shooters.

Great scene, but I really have to wonder what was Marcus looking at to not be able to see Genereal Ramm (or is it Raam) walking up to Kim until he shanked him.

GOW is really addictive. i havent had as much fun in a shooter in quite a while. it's a very well done game.

Ok, I'm not as far along as many here, but yesterday afternoon I met up with the Wreckers?! That scens is well done, especially with your surround sound going. Nicely done.

I've been plodding along. Never done co-op campaign (nobody I know does it online, everybody is always in Warzone), so I'm slowly getting through the game on Hardcore. Nearing the end of Act 4, and now every checkpoint seems to be a major milestone to pass without dying 10 times.

Those bastard Theron Guards and their Torque Bows! If I pop my head up longer than 1/2 a second, it usually gets an explosive arrow inserted into it.

Most fun I've ever had with a shooter, and most fun I've had being frustrated at points.

BOOM BOOM BOOM. My friend and I who were playing Co-op just both started dying laughing. Just a great game. The only downside to it is that you can't have more than one SP save so I'm having to wait on my friend to play thru more of the single player.

I finally beat Gears last night on Hardcore. I played Co-op over live with about 5 people and it was great. I played about an hour of insane level and it is tough but I don't think too tough as of yet.

after playing the the single player mode a lot more the other day, I thinking to myself this game is one of the best I played in a long time, I played COD3 when I first got and like it better, but now I can't stop playing GOW online, I play it more online then COD.

I'm taking the same path as you. I've played maybe 4-5 online sessions and it's hella fun, but most of my gameplay time has been in SP. Got to that same point w/the Theron Guards and didn't know how I was going to get past it. I loved the variety in the ways my teammate AI would react - initially I was scared to try to take the platform because I'd always get killed if I even hinted at trying to get from under cover. But I had to laugh because one time I'm hiding behind cover, taking my time - next thing I notice, Cole is up on the platform chasing after the guards yelling out one-liners lol. Of course he got housed, but helped to make me a little more aggressive in my approach.

There's such a level of satisfaction in beating a firefight that seems frustrating. In a game filled with tons of high points, I'd have to say my most satisfying might be the shootout at the gas station. Hilarious, scary, and intense at the same time ("BOOM!")

Loving SP mode. I'm pretty deep into the game and it gets better and better.
