I only have connection issues when I try to join some co-op matches as well as quickmatches.

Other than that I am gold.

        Impressions on GoW.

        Love it.

Me and some other OS guys killed it tonight. Besides Metal Gear and Socom, I've avoided shooter type games. this one changed my perspective, it's really really well done. Put upwards of 4 hours of multiplayer tonight and can't wait til tomorrow when I get off work.

Ya'll hit me up when you need one more for multiplayer.

Just encountered my first beserker and I am about to have a heart attack.

Re: Official Gears of War Impressions Thread

Reading the early impressions of this game, most people were praising GOW for it's multiplayer. That got me concerned. I'm not into MP that much, so I was worried that the single player experience wasn't worth the purchase. Sully said it's worth it and so did a few other so I bought it. Well, I picked it up yesterday and my concerns so far haven't come to pass.

This game offline is awesome. Someone said this in a previous post and it's absolutely true, This is probably the most skilled-based game I've played since Ninja Gaiden. Yes the levels are linear but, my goodness the A.I is incredible. Once you pass a chapter or Act on the Hardcore setting, you gotta take a deep breathe and exhale. It's so rewarding.

It took me 10 tries to pass the first locust encounter,(the one when they weld open the door and burst through, it's just you and Dom as a team.) After that "trial by fire", It's been war ever since.

My advice to anyone who's buys/rents it and is frustrated with the difficulty(Hardcore). Just be paitent. Once you get past that learning curve, the experience is incredible.

I totally agree with you. Playing Hardcore is tough but the reward for each completion is a great feeling.

Here is the problem Gmoney, there are some people in this thread that haven't played the SP yet. Most of these impressions have been based off of MP. I'm really enjoying SP right now and last night I played MP for the first time with nyisles and a few other friends, this game is awesome and a total package so far. There was no lag at all during MP, I only had 1 lockup.

This is the first Killer App for the 360 is all I'm going to say, and many will agree with me.

Like JSKYWALKER1 said, try Hardcore and then you will really see what this game is about. I tried it for a bit, and decided to go back to Casual for right now.

Got into a game last night and half the people couldn't hear me, but I could hear them. Then I hoped back on late last night and every could hear me. Not sure what the deal is wth that. Weird thing is, the people that couldn't hear me last night, could hear me the other times we have played GOW. Someone said it had to do with my Linskys router.

Me and my boy just beat the game last night on Hardcore. Unbelievable! The best 9-10(2 days 4-5 hors each day) hour gaming experience ever. The co-op is crazy. We are going to go through it again on insane. You know a game is good when your wife is into the game like a movie and screaming at you to dive, shoot, don't die, watch out. The graphics on 1080i are...well I still can't believe how good this game looks. This is easily one of the best gaming moments ever. Co-op, fantastic A.I., graphics and I have yet to play multiplayer. The one level where it is in the rain....maaaaannn.

Anyway the only bad thing is that for this being a killer app it is short. Fun as hell but short. It makes me wonder how much of the 9gig DVD space did they use? That's my only concern if a game this good looking and smart A.I. is 10 hours, how much space did it use and if using HD format in the future would make a difference? PEACE!

Yep Candyman, This is the first Killer App for 360 for sure. Hardcore difficulty is where it's at though Candyman, trust me. It's challenging but not unfair, it keeps that balance so far anyway. Just like Ninja Gaiden. Sometimes I miss the 3rd Person targeting reticle though, I think that's why most guys consider this a FPS rather then a 3RD Person shooter. Most shooting for me is done with the precision aiming view(left trigger). Amazing man, Amazing...
