The torquebow takes out the theron guards with one shot, so yeah I'd say it's the best way to deal with them. You need to hold the trigger down until the blue line straightens out though, or else the shot won't stick to the guards. You're best bet is to pull the trigger while you're still in cover and then pop out of cover to quickly aim and release the trigger. You can only keep the trigger pulled for like 8 seconds though. The bow is also great against the boomers, and is also a great melee weapon against the weaponless suicidal locusts (I forget what their called).

You can still kill the guards with other weapons, they just take more damage than the regular locusts. Overall I haven't had too much trouble with the guards (on hardcore).

Just thought I'd say... this is probably the bst game I've ever played.

It's not a stetch for me to say that. I haven't played the whole array of shooters, but this is the one for me.

The mp is great, but if teams are uneven, it is not too much fun. Whether it is a one man disadvantage or having a couple awful noobs are your team, GOW gets frustrating really fast. But if things are balanced, this game is fantastic.

Come on-that comes with the territory in any multi player game. How does COD2 or 3 work for you when the kill count is set to 100 and your team is down 60-30?

I disagree wholeheartedly. In most multiplayer games, it does not require the amount of effort GOW requires to put someone out of the game. In most instances, you will be equipped with your machinegun. And to put him out, it requires quite a bit from your machinegun and then you have to execute while he is kneeling. That gives plenty of time to others, most likely already traveling in a pack, to put you out of the game.

So don't play Execution. I play Warzone only, which is essentially Team Deathmatch, that doesn't require you to "finish off" a downed player.

My copy is probably going up on Ebay next weekend. I should have the single player finished by then. The multiplayer, while fun at first, has become stale for me, mainly because of the lackluster gameplay modes.

Single player has been entertaining thus far, but from what I'm hearing, it's extremely short.

My copy is probably going up on Ebay next weekend. I should have the single player finished by then. The multiplayer, while fun at first, has become stale for me, mainly because of the lackluster gameplay modes.

Single player has been entertaining thus far, but from what I'm hearing, it's extremely short.

It'll be over before you know it...I was shocked how short Act V was....I like the multiplayer (and do my friends) so I'll keep it for a while, but I'm probably not playing through the single again, unless I play it in co-op.

Lackluster? I do wish they'd have a straight Deathmatch mode, with respawning.

Yes, lackluster, as in lacking brilliance. Each mode is a slightly different variation of the other. Where's the creativity?

Hell, throw in the traditional online shooter modes like CTF or King of the Hill.

Yeah. I was disappointed in how short the single player campaign was. But it's a great ride while it lasts. However, MP is definently gonna need some downloadable content in the near future to keep the game fresh for the coming months. IMO R6V will be a better game(which I'll be buying of course) but I'm still gonna hold on to GOW for the time being.

If I were guaranteed some new gameplay modes in the near future via DLC, I'd consider holding on to GoW.

If I am not mistaken, even in Warzone, unless you take a player out with a headshot, chainsaw, of explode them to bits, they still go to their "down but not out" stage. They will eventually die if not revived, but still, it makes it alot harder if out numbered on a map.

I hear ya Sully. I think that's the big question that everyone is asking as well. What exactly are Epic's plans in terms of DLC? Nobody really knows yet.

Once they hit the ground in Warzone a few more rounds will finish them off.

I thonk its the best MP experience since Halo i guess. The cover elements add so much more, and you really need to work as a team. Loving it.

They do need to tweak some things, like the damn grenade in the gut BS. Its a bit to easy
