Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
there'd be a few specifics and picking and choosing. an interogation so to speak, but yeah, i would.
or in the milk example, to parents with young kids who need the milk. but not to some fat guy who likes chocolate milk.
as a seller it'd be tough to pick and choose. but i know car companies do that with their limited runs. they sell it out to people wholl get the company the best exposure.
you pick and choose and hope for the best.
if I knew ahead of time my cousin wanted a system and my cousin was kind and caring and worthy of it, and had no means to wait in line. of course i'd do it.
id do it but maybe with personal relationship limitations, if that makes any senseComment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
People upping the bids and then not paying are just dip****s, and anyone complaining about making some money by buying and selling for more should get their *** out of this country. It would be nice if ebay actually held them accountable for this crap.
If I was a seller, I would just make a second chance offer to the highest real bidder.Comment

to a hard working father of 4 who's also a friend who wants that special gift for his kid. yes.

Classic stuff on the real. I wonder why the PS3 is getting this going and the XBOX 360 wasn't during its release. Funny cause this could go on without people being punished. Couldn't they just setup a new account for each new bid? People could do that stuff at a library or wherever if that site isn't blocked. Crazy stuff. I really have to say that I'm sorry for all those people who could taste the money and end up having this problem.Comment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
Ultimately, it ends up being an inconvience for everyone involved. The seller still has a new PS3 that is worth more than retail, and there are certainly buyers out there willing to pay a price higher than retail. The false bidders are just a nuisance that should be stopped.
I believe the same happened during the Xbox 360 launch as well. It wasn't as pronounced as the incidents listed in the original post, but there certainly was price bumping.
It's nothing new, but it is annoying. And if eBay continues to let it go on unchecked, people will eventually lose faith and look for other means of selling.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

How does cragslist work and how do they compare with the prices you get on eBay? I have thought of trying to find alternatives to eBay in the past.Comment

it's especially dangerous to ship from overseas. But yeah, it's dangerous to ship as well. My friend ordered a 360 off ebay and it essentially got stolen by a USPS employee right off the truck.Comment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
The fact is that anyone who wanted a PS3 could have gotten one. The launch date was no secret. They are limited at this time, and the people who have one have every right to sell it for profit. This is capitalism at it's finest. There's no need to feel the sellers deserve anything negative to happen to them because they are "greedy", or more like others are jealous.
At most, ps3 sellers can make maybe a $300 profit off one console. This isn't going to last long, and is 100% legit to do. The reply you posted sounds like you're one of the ones ruining people's auctions.Redskins Fan. The 82 Smurfs will never die. 83/88/92 NFL world champions!!

I'm sure these same ppl would sell bottled water for 200.00 during a massive earthquake... Stop using the, it's just captitalism at work, excuse.. & yes they are greedy. I don't mind ppl making a profit, but when they sell the PS3 for 1,500-5,000 they get what they deserve..
The fact is, people have ps3's and people want ps3's. Apparently the people who want them are willing to pay $1k for them. Too bad people like you and me can't get one at the moment, but everyone had the same opportunity as the ones who did.
Get out of america you commie.Comment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
People sell things at market price. If people will pay 200 dollars for bottled water at a earthquake, then fine...some people may feel the need to sell it for that. However that example is completely different. This is no natural disaster, and a ps3 is hardly a necessity of life. It's a bleeding edge piece of technology and the early adaptors want it badly.

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
Why is it greed. The sellers put forth the effort to acquire the device. Supply and demand dictate the prices. They aren't breaking any laws. They aren't breaking any moral statutes. No one is forcing people to pay for the PS3 for a substantial amount over the MSRP. It's a free market.
I love when someone finds a way to make an honest buck, people call them greedy. They are selling the devices for the price the market will currently allow.
If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at Sony for creating such a shortfall in their hyped up product, not the people who put forth the time and effort to take advantage of the market.Comment

Man people are flipping this thing like crack, lol. Its Sony's fault for making so little consoles, but people taking advantage of the situation is just greed. Cant knock the hustle, but the sh1t is greedy.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite
