Re: Fallout 3
so when I beat broken steel, no matter what I can go out and find more quests to do? If thats true, this game just a lot better.
I do have a question about the other DLC, I know you go to Pitt, and then to the swamp, but do these all start out cimpletely different? Like should I wrap up Broken Steel and get all I can out of the capital wasteland before I dload those add ons? Or will they all end up back in the capital wasteland where i can continue messing around?Comment

As for the other add-ons, yes, they all end up back in the capital wasteland. Nothing to worry about there.
EDIT: There is one way to have Broken Steel not make the game open ended. If at the ending you:
SpoilerChoose to let the purifier explode
the game will end, for obvious reasons.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
I wouldn't say new areas really.
I did do some old quests I never did before. For instance in my my first playthrough I didn't get a chance to complete the "Wasteland Survival Guide" quest from Moira in Megaton due to some complications () so I finally completed that. New locations would be Arlington Library and Robo Factory.
Also didn't know so much about Rivet City. There's really a lot to do there that I didn't get a chance to do before.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
When I started playing again I picked up the GOTY Edition with all the DLC.
Which expansion raises the Level Cap? Broken Steel?
I remember when I beat the game earlier I was disappointed I couldn't go back and do some of the side quests. This time I'm just doing all the side quests/exploring before I even touch any story missions. Hell I haven't even been to the GNR building yet.
Spoilerfinding dad in that vault where you are a kid in that weird 30's sitcom setting and missing out on a ton of story related missions like talking to threedog and whatnotComment

Re: Fallout 3
just be careful exploring like that. when I first played back when it came out I did this and ended up
Spoilerfinding dad in that vault where you are a kid in that weird 30's sitcom setting and missing out on a ton of story related missions like talking to threedog and whatnotSpoilerThat was such a sweet part in the game. I really liked how they implemented that as well as things in the beginning of the game like being a baby and a kid...I just found those parts really cool and different.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Only problem for me was having to go through all that baby/kid/teen stuff whenever I wanted to try a new character. Took way too long.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
I agree. That really held me back from playing this game another go around. That's why I tried to do everything in the game after Broken Steel came out for my only play-through.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Leave a saved game there and you dont have to redo it each time you want to restart.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Thanks man, I forgot all about that. Hopefully I can find that save.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Problem is there are a lot of things to do previous to that - I like to change my character's actions, as opposed to having to just do it once and picking the same thing over and over if I want to play a new character.Comment

Spoilerfinding dad in that vault where you are a kid in that weird 30's sitcom setting and missing out on a ton of story related missions like talking to threedog and whatnotSpoilerI did the that same thing in my 1st play through and missed a lot of missions because I found dad in in the sitcom thing so I just quit and started completely over. And did the main storyline first and now I can explore and do all the side quests I want.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Fallout 3
SpoilerSo I should go talk to 3-dog and do the main storyline up until the last mission ?(Which obviously I know what it is, since I've played through once already)
Because right now the only real side missions i've done after leaving vault are Wasteland Survival Guide, The Big Town Rescue One (go to PD and rescue the prisoners, Those! (Fire Ants and find home for orphan boy in Rivet City) and Blood Ties (Find Lucy West's Family)
Was Debating trying to go do the "Nuka Cola Challenge". Should I do some story first? I already have like 10 Quantums found.Comment
