I started a new character on very hard and the sweet spot for me in this game is right around level 7-11 where you are just powerful enough to do some damage, but just weak enough that you can't go everywhere and expect to live so you have to do some sneaking around. Ammo management is still an issue and you have to make some tough decisions on what you want to carry. Once you get into the teens levels the game becomes a heck of a lot easier.

I'd love to see them take this engine and make an old west genre game. Add a cover system, lose the bug fights and monsters, and add a horse. A game where you could become sheriff or be a train robber or something old west-like.

Anyways, anyone have any post apocalyptic book reccomendations? Other than King's The Stand?
Check out the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. I have been playing my character as the Gunslinger. One of the books in the series is even called "The Wastelands"

For 360 owners, installing the game to the hard drive with NXE took about 8 minutes and 5.9 GB of space. I've got a loud dvd drive and now it makes no noise at all while playing

Can't really comment on load times, they felt about the same. Did seem like there is less pop in of stuff off in the distance.

Bingo. Dark Tower is where it is at. 7 great books and almost every single book King ever wrote is woven into the story. One of my favorite series of all time. Read it and you'll have a different perspective on every King book or movie ever released - past or present.

You son of a....I can't wait until Wed when i can finally DL all these games to my HDD and have less wear and tear on the 360.

I bought a new 120HDD a week ago so I can install all the games I want....probably install about 6-7 of them at a time.

            This game DELIVERS.

I honestly, feel that Fallout 3 is better than Fable 2. Fable 2 has it beat graphically. However, Fallout 3's story and side quests are so indepth and fun.

Both games have a lot of detail, but Fallout 3 just delivers in spades in terms of NPC interaction and background information.

Don't get me wrong, Fable 2 is a fun adventure, however a lot of the missions have no purpose other than to kill more bad guys and find treasure. Fallout 3's main mission and side missions all have purpose and meaningful back stories.

Fallout 3 owns me as of right now, played like 8 hours straight last night. Only Starcraft has had that affect on me before.

I agree....I was owned by Fable 2, but it's nothing like Fallout 3. Fable quests just don't grab me like Fallout ones, and in Fable I know I won't die and it's all just "kill more guys" and gets old. Fallout just immerses you in a world where you want to see what happens, and also have no clue what might happen to surprise you.

Sometimes I don't want to see what happens. lol

While exploring in a dark tunnel and being as you say, immersed in the game, my dog jumped out of no where on me and scared the hell out of me. lol

I haven't played this game for a week as I was finishing Gears/Fable II but put some serious game time in today and completed quests. Can't wait till tomorrow evening to get back at the game.

Finally picked this up, it's been sold out everywhere near me recently.

What's the best difficulty to start this game on if i haven't played many of this type of game before?

I just started it on the default difficulty, medium, or whatever it would be called. Its been good, challenging but getting a little to easy as I close in on level 20, but fun and good for a first go round.

Like Donovan said Jonesy....start on normal.
But it does get easier as you level up, SO...I suggest playing on normal to get a handle....but play in a way that you normally wouldn't(say "bad" if you always play good) and don't do every quest.
You'll wind up starting again at a higher difficulty and then you can play it through as you normally would.
The game doesn't take that much time to learn the new combat and such that you couldn't just start on a harder difficulty though.

Yeah...I'm at about level 14 with my main guy (good) and I'm thinking of just finishing the story so I can get to a bad guy on a higher level...

How do I know that I am going to the right place? How do I know where these places are? I have just left the vault and I am trying to find my father in a town. Ok. So how do I know where to look for the town and how do I know I'm going the right way to get there.

                              Thanks

Look at the compass at the bottom. Go towards the big green arrow. There are some in world signs that point you towards megaton too.

Otherwise there is no 'right way' to go. Just go explore. If you just follow the main quest you'll miss out on the best parts of the game.
