    Re: Halo 3 Discussion

I never had a problem with it in Halo 2. Unless its CTF you pretty much spawn any where on the map.

In the Halo 3 beta it wasn't a problem cause the maps were so spread out.

You mention CTF, and that is EXACTLY the type of game I prefer. I'm not a big fan of deathmatch or team deathmatch...I like objectives! And thus, I need fair competition like the guys on here (I hope ). Random a-holes just ruin shooter games.

I'm a CTF/team objectives guy all the way. If you check out my halo 2 games played, it's like 4/1 big team battle to team slayer/skirmish. I can't stand FFA. not fun in a shooter, to me.

Well I highly suggest going in with a group of 3-4 people when you play skirmish. Most people don't realize that there is more to it then just running in and grabbing the flag. You need strategy to succeed in this game.

I've still never had a problem with people spawn camping me, I would like to say I'm an experienced Halo 2 player and I'm above average skill wise. And I play with people I know I can trust to be good and I enjoy playing with.

If you havnt been killed after a spawn then you havnt played enough or havnt played against really good people. I know where most spawn points are on most maps and can rack up some huge kill numbers on people spawning.

in R6 theres a 5 second shield so you cant be spawn killed

                New Halo 3 Map Unveiled
'Narrows': a massive bridge over the misty void. First screens inside.

"It's a Forerunner structure. It's embedded in this cliff wall and it's a bridge. Imagine the - if you're familiar with Halo 1 - imagine the bridge from Assault on the Control Room, expanded, and made for multiplayer, so it's got multiple levels and each side has kind of a dug in section, and it's mirrored so on one side of each of the bases there's actually a Man Cannon, and if both sides take it at the same time they'll actually meet in mid-air, which is pretty cool.

"There are multiple areas that you fight over; there are some power weapons in the center of the map. I'll give you guys a heads-up right now - there's actually a rocket launcher on top and a shotgun on the lowest level dead center of the map, so when you guys play it tonight you'll have a little extra edge on the competition…"

We'll have full hands-on impressions of Narrows, as well as the two interviews and some hot event coverage coming tomorrow and into Monday. Stay tuned.

Those bridges drove me crazy in Halo 1, fire from all directions, really tough. Sounds like a cool level.

I'm not sure what it is, but I am not that excited for Halo 3. Maybe because I am so pumped for other games it has slipped below my hype radar. Perhaps since my expectations are nill the game will impress me more than if I had been psyched for it.

Same, but I wasn't that hyped for Halo 2 and I played that game more than any other over live.

I haven't read much at all about Halo 3 and I am going to keep it that way. I don't want to hype myself and be disappointed.

I know the release date is in September, but I have no idea what day. What is the release day?

Releases September 25th. I'm looking forward to the game. I'm hoping it can recapture the magic of Halo 1's singleplayer. The Live co-op should be great.
