        In a probably-not-accurate chronological order

        - NFL Blitz on the N64

        - Had countless good moments playing Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain creating characters and playing in Royal Rumbles until the birds were chirping in the morning

        - The first time I saw a helmet pop off in Madden

        - For whatever reason, hearing "Last Day of School" http://youtu.be/5dvTS9gwEg4 in Madden

        - Playing ESPN 2K's first person mode. Man I miss that.

        - seeing Madden and MLB 2K (whatever year it was) on the PS3 when it was first released. I was blown away.

        - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The entire single player campaign. It was my first FPS and I was just so immersed in it. Especially the ending.

        - There was this one moment when I was messing around in GTA IV with my friend over and I was so determined to drive the police hummer vehicle. So get my wanted level to whatever level it was that brought out the hummers and I got real excited. I shoot the driver of one and ran over to go get in and right when I was opening the door another hummer comes flying in sideways, tires screeching, sirens blaring, and absolutely destroyed Niko. I had to put the controller down and gather myself I was laughing so hard.

        - RDR when the music played and obviously the ending.

        - Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops, when me and my friend finally completed all 69 stars after over a year of trying. Probably my favorite moment ever.

        - Max Payne 3 when "Tears" plays. That was the first time I actually felt a connection to a game

Yeah all the FF7 that's been mentioned

FFX basically all of it. That was one of my favorite xmas gifts ever, played that game over and over all day. Loved everything from the combat, storyline, blitzball, etc. The ending and several other moments just were big woah moments for me.

          KOTOR1 when I final got a lightsaber.

There are plenty others from my childhood can't remember

            Most recent to oldest

Max Payne 3 - Airport when Tears comes on!

Skyrim - Moment I booted up the game

ARMA 2 - Getting pinned in the most realistic combat ambush ever in a online coop game. All while using head tracking hardware/software

NCAA 09 - Returning this kick off with no time left to win the game. He bobbled catching it, then managed to find a way to endzone.

Bad Company - Par for the Course: Riding on the golf cart (Some of my favorite dialogs in a game)

Left 4 Dead - Moment I stepped into multiplayer

Metal Gear Solid - Ocelot battle (not the MGS 3 one)

            Mortal Kombat - Finishing moves

Mario/Duck Hunt - The moment I got my NES and opened it up. Life long addiction from then on.

              Re: Most Memorable Videogaming Moments

When my dad brought home an Intellivision for Christmas in 81' and I first played Armor Battle I was amazed that I could even control something on my TV screen at home.

Playing D&D Treasure of Tarmin on Intellivision and Ultima: Exodus on my friends PC in 83' like a madman.

              Bards Tale in 85'

              Castlevania in 86'

              Pool of Radiance in 88'

As far as shooters go, first playing the original Rainbow 6 on the hardest difficulty right from the beginning. Having to actually play really tactical and carefully as if I was really out there, cause 1 bullet would spell the end of me !

Same goes for Ghost Recon 1, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. The kind of tension those tactical shooters would create was simply AMAZING !

Such a shame games like CoD got so popular and Bohemia is the only one making the more realistic shooters these days. I would love to have updated versions of these games.

My best moment would have to be when I first got an Xbox 360 with call of duty 2. This was about 4 months after it had come out. I remember walking in the from do after school and my dad was playing it. I can only imagine the look on my face. Of course I had played this at friends houses but there was something special about seeing it on our own big screen the graphics just blew me away. I played that for hours and my dad convinced my mom to let me stay home from school the next day lol.

                    Some other notable moments

                    Kotor twist
MGS1 psycho mantis was just the best boss ever
GTA vice city-me and my friends would enter the weapon cheats an see how could survive the longest with five star wanted level. I never even touched the story of that game for a long time

Goldeneye on the 64. Something special about four player tournaments during the summer and talking smack on the kid who always raced to pick odd job first.

                          Re: Most Memorable Videogaming Moments

Going with only memories of my childhood because gaming was a big part of it.

                          NHL Faceoff 97

My dad and I played this game for a year straight. We had to handicap his lack of skill so I would play as Ottawa's checking line for the entire game and he would be the North American All-Stars. Remember this was with line changes so I had to play with a constantly fatigued line against his team of world beaters. We had some real nail biters.

                          NBA Showdown

This game was THE game for me and my friends. We would have 6 or so of us sleeping over at a friends house and play this game ALL night. At about 5 or 6 in the morning our tournament would be over and we would vote on awards and print them out and place them until the next tourney. Epic games.

                          Team Fortress Classic

I finally got into PC gaming in the late 90s and the game that pushed it over the edge was TFC. I didn't play the original mod for Quake but once I got my hands on this I was a slave to Valve and all Team Fortress iterations. First and only game I was ever in a clan and attended practices and everything. X Fire clocks my Team Fortress 2 time at around 300 hours and it was all due to this game in all of its grenade spamming goodness. I still remember going 30-0 with a sniper when I finally stopped aiming with arrow keys. Thank god for WASD!

                          Hexen 64

This was before classics like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark became the norm for 4 player goodness. Epic 4 player battles and the first game that introduced me to class based FPS. Had to be creative and make own King of the Hill game modes but made it work.

                          World of Warcraft

I'm talking about the vanilla OG original. I was home for a month(!) from college Christmas time '05 and had nothing to do. I had a computer and some extra cash from selling some books so I did what any dumb idiot would do I decide to get involved with WoW. I played 150 some hours over my holiday and the beauty was I barely made it past level 40. I didn't know how to dungeon crawl, craft, raid or anything. I spent most of my time exploring the area and towns. The sheer scale of the game blew me away and I would get lost in massive areas.

Madden '94; Emmitt Smith; HB Inside; Unstoppable

Playing my dad in NBA Jam for countless hours. He was the Bucks and I was always the Magic. Vin Baker was a beast lol

Playing Road Rash on Sega CD and the countless hours spent on Dragon's Lair. Much more difficult as a kid than now.

The first time playing Goldeneye on 64 and remembering thinking how awesome and realistic the graphics were lmao

Just a quick aside. Personally love reading posts like this and seeing what folks have enjoyed, been scared by, or remember the most. It's amazing how disparate our experiences are with gaming, and what we remember (and why), even though many of us have played the same games.

Kudos to OP for starting the thread.

The first time a beat the elite four in Pokemon red and finally got charizard to level 100.

Not many people played tales of symphonia for the GameCube but beating that game after 80+ hours was awesome.

I'll never forget recruiting that 5 star receiver in NCAA football 09 after working so hard to get him.

I thought the end of skyward sword was pretty touching for a game with no spoken dialogue. That game had a fantastic music score.

                                Lots of Mass Effect moments.
