Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
SpoilerGo right outside the bar and turn right. The first car there (Atleast for me) was a fast enough car to make it there. Dont pick lock! Reason I know this is I kept on failing the mission as well. Not because my car was not fast but because I kept wrecking.
Also does anyone else use the speed limiter as a brake for turns...I do it all the time.....lol.
Anyone know if anything can be done if you lose your DLC car during a mission? It doesn't seem to be popping up in my garage. Stinks because I just spend a few grand upgrading its engine and such.Go Yankees
Go Rangers

I also use speed limiter for braking.
A question about Derek
Spoiler
Since one of the achievements is tied his exporting cars for you and since in Chapter 14 you kill the hell out of him, can you still take cars there or do you have to load an earlier chapter and do it then?

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
I guess I should clarify. I didn't want to waste time picking the lock or breaking the window. If it's a convertible, Vito will jump right in. The car that spawns there is random. Sometimes it's a fast one, other times it's a dirt slow one. Was hoping if you had one from your garage that you didn't have to use the randomly spawned one.
I use B to turn corners at fast speed (that's what it's meant to do), and only use the Speed Limiter when I'm on a mission talking with someone so I don't trigger a cop alert. I was using A to turn until I learned out to use B on the fast turns, now I like B more.Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
I maintain more control when I use the speed limiter.
Anyway, I just finished the game. I really enjoyed the story in this game and the whole atmosphere.

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Okay, this thread sold me. I picked up Mafia II for 360 yesterday and made it to Chapter 3...having a grand ol' time.
I HATE the GTA games, but really enjoyed The Godfather. This is, to me, a nice evolution from The Godfather, and I most definitely enjoy more linear-style gameplay to totally open-world. I guess I just prefer more story driven games.
The driving is WAY better than the driving in The Godfather (I like the speed governor), I like the hand to hand fighting fine, shooting (what little I've done so far) is good, GREAT graphics and atmosphere, excellent audio and voice acting.GO 'HAWKS!

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
I'm honestly loving this game. I keep telling myself I'm gonna get to the side missions, but the story keeps pulling me in. I know immediately as I beat it I'm never gonna play it again, though. That's usually how I am with these types of games (no multiplayer).Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
You really only do those for achievements though.
What did you guys think of the shading in this game? I thought the graphics were fine except the shading looked more like cross-hatching than actual "shade" if you guys know what I mean.

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
not digging the game.
So far it's 90% driving and I don't like the driving, so I stopped playing (rental).
This game could have came out like 2 years ago or more. It seems like they were pimping it on xbl like 4 years ago. I should have known better though, I had a feeling it wouldn't be up my alley and I rented it anyway.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Behind Shenmue 2, Mafia on the PC is my favorite game. I played through that game more than a few times. Tommy Angelo, Pauli, Don Salieri were great characters. I really thought they should have continued that storyline with Mafia 2. I still will rent Mafia 2, but I doubt it will measure up to the first Mafia.Member of OS since Dec 2002 BKA amaizinblueComment
