Gamfly is shipping this and HAWX 2 to me finally . I enjoyed the demo enough to try it out.

The horn does work going super fast. They actually "hear" it further away then what you might think.

Yeah, you can lay on the horn and initiate the get out of the way script, but it would still be nice if cars would react realistically trying to avoid collisions.

I never felt like the cars were trying to crash into you though, they were just going normally around their pattern ignoring the fact you were going plow into them at 90 mph.

People don't know how to drive in this game it pisses me off. I try to keep my nice cars scratch-less but damn that's a tough task.

Yeah, and I've changed it quite often. Is there a certain channel that will play those songs?

I'm not sure what station they're on but I've heard them all in game. Also I'm pretty sure they switch songs played from the 40's to 50's

Here's the list for each station:

Empire Central Radio (ECNR) is one of the three radio stations in Mafia II. Empire Central Radio is one of three radio stations in Empire Bay. It is hosted by Richard Foxberry who is also known as "Rockin" Ricky Fox in the 1950s. The station mainly plays big band music during the 1940s segment and more mainstream pop and rock during the 1950s portion. C Removed from the digital downloads of Mafia II classic soundtrack. Empire Classic Radio (ECLA) is a radio stations in Mafia II. Empire Classic Radio is one of three radio stations in Empire Bay. It is hosted by Bob Berriman in the 1940s. He is replaced as host by Gary Stevens in the 1950s, who covers breaking news while Bob Berriman continues to report on general news stories. Delta Radio (EDLT) is a radio station in Mafia II. Delta Radio is one of three radio stations in Empire Bay. It is hosted by Walt Williams in the 1940s, being replaced by Sammy Stevens in the 1950s. The station mostly plays jazz and blues music during the 1940s segment, and doo-wop and rock-and-roll hits during the 1950s portion. DE Removed from the Mafia II: Definitive Edition soundtrack. We must be playing different games. I went back and tried the horn today while working on the 159 wanted posters (easily the most boring aspect of the game from a completionist standpoint) and as I remembered the horn does not work at faster speeds. The cars just don't respond fast enough, partly because many times they are moving extra slow compared to your speed, and in neighborhood areas may actually be standing still.

Worst part is the game seems to enjoy throwing cars out from each side when you run red lights. Sure, it's realistic, but results in a lot of crashes that could have been avoided with a better crossing routes (say one at a time, or two before you get there, etc).

Like I said, these are major items in my book, just small changes they could have made to make the game more enjoyable. For me personally, it's no fun wrecking your car every other minute and I refuse to drive slow as I already have to do that in real life.

Thanks goh! Did you notice when you change the station that the entire game slows down a little bit. Wonder what's so heavy duty in the game about changing a sound feed that it would slow down the entire game?

Nope. Never seen slowdown or framerate drops at all. Earlier I had a whole street blocked off with about 9-14 cars and a bus and everything was fine. Though as I said I have it installed.

So basically your problem isn't with the funky crash avoidance (wich can be mostly avoided with the horn), but that traffic is too realistic? I don't feel that cars going into an intersection having a green light to be a fault at all.

For the most part I found traffic very much avoidable at high speeds, it was at moderate to low speeds that I would get cars turning into me.

I did find the radio hiccup to be annoying, I started turning off the radio since changing stations was so sketchy.

You playing it on PS3? The framerate drop / slow down is on the 360 playing from disk (no HD install).

C'mon, that's just not true at faster speeds, especially in the city. The horn primarily works on slower speeds, or when you are going fast in a straight line. Cars that are turning rarely change direction, and they primarily turn at intersections. At faster speeds your control is fairly limited with major corrections resulting in loss of control of the vehicle.

As for the vehicles running into you intentionally, one of the things I noticed when getting the 50 miles in one vehicle achievement is that most crashes with vehicles turning into my car came when vehicles were attempting to pass another vehicle.
