Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
Just beat it. Wow, enjoyed every bit of it. Only minor complaints I had where the frame rate hiccups (specially in the final fight), and I thought the MAKO was harder to drive than it should have been...other than that, loved it. I may have to go get the prequel book now.
I'll definitely play again focusing on the side quests this time.Comment

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
I got used to driving the Mako, and by now I'm awesome at Mako shooting, but it was a big big learning curve to get good. Especially with the wacky mountain terrain on most moons, that could make it harder than necessary sometimes. Nitpicking, but i hear ya.Just beat it. Wow, enjoyed every bit of it. Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
When I first started playing the drop in frame rates were real annoying. However, shortly after I never even noticed them even though I'm sure they were quite frequent. I guess I just got used to that "speed".Just beat it. Wow, enjoyed every bit of it. Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
Yeah, it didn't bug me after a while....
I beat the game last night before bed, and wow...the game has you kinda caring about characters, wondering what's going to happen, etc...Great story and I can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd in the trilogy.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

For those that don't have the guide
SpoilerI'd suggest picking it up before you do most of the assignments at the Citadel. There are some that require 7-9 charm and intimidates to receive all of the options when it comes to the conversations and some that give more after you become a Specter.Highheat's O's Franchise

I also finished it last night, and I actually was nervous in making one of the final decisions, wondering how it would effect the finishing of the game.
SpoilerI'm referring to the decision in saving the council, letting them die, or the concentrate on Sovreign option.NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
I haven't been able to play for 3 days because we were visiting the in-laws, but I'm back, and ready to settle into some serious Mass Effect.
Question: Are y'all sticking with the same squad all the time or rotating?Last edited by Anaxamander; 11-25-2007, 12:44 AM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
Finally this game is starting to make sense to me. Never purchased a game like this before nor Rpg for that matter mostly Sports for me but this game is really good.
Really a lot to comprehend for a newbie to this type of game. Glad that I made this purchase, so many options and different ways to play it. Just may be GOTY or even COD4 for that matter in my book. Damn, forgot about Assasins Creed. AC is also a great game. Peace!!!The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
I personally stuck with the same squad, mostly because it all meshed well. I was infiltrator, so tech/soldier....I had a full biotic as healer/support and a full soldier for power. I could have mixed it up but this was my best and most complementing group (other mixes would have duplicated unnecessarily).
Now, in my 2nd time through as a ruthless, evil Biotic I have a little while until I get to figure that out. I'm not sure what the best mix will be for me. Probably one soldier and then the 3rd will be up in the air.Last edited by mgoblue; 11-25-2007, 01:18 AM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
Ditto...I'd do the same in those situations, but on the side quests it didn't bug me, just on big long storyline missions I wanted my "A" team.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
