After 30 hours of gameplay over 4 days, I finished Mass Effect last night. Thanks to everyone who recommended it! I have never played an RPG before, but I absolutely love Mass Effect. It is up there as my favorite all-time video game experiences. I have already started my second playthrough!

and to comment on the fox thing, I wish someone would ask that woman why she feels confident bashing something when she has no reliable information - it's fine that she regrets what she said after having seen the game, but

a) barely anyone noticed the apology

b) It doesn't change the fact that she lets strong opinions fly around w/o having any justification...she should never be on tv or in print for being so stupid.

Just started playing this game. Was a big fan of Kotor. Production values are off the charts. Easily the best game I have played in the "Next Gen" generation.

I JUST beat this game about 5 minutes ago.

I wasn't in a rush, did tons of side quests aka "assignments" and beat the game in 30 hours and 2 minutes.

AWESOME game, great production and that final song they play as the credits role is kick azz!

Anyone know of a way I can download that song to my IPOD?

I JUST beat this game about 5 minutes ago.

I wasn't in a rush, did tons of side quests aka "assignments" and beat the game in 30 hours and 2 minutes.

AWESOME game, great production and that final song they play as the credits role is kick azz!

Anyone know of a way I can download that song to my IPOD?

I have the soundtrack, I'll send it to you later if you still don't have it.

Mass Effect Downloadable Content Announced

To date, over 1.6 million gamers have explored the engaging sci-fi universe of Mass Effect. Beginning on March 10, fans everywhere will be able to expand the “Mass Effect” experience with the release of the first ever downloadable content for the award-winning saga.

The Bring Down the Sky downloadable content pack will be released to Xbox LIVE Marketplace on Monday, March 10 at 2 a.m. PST, and will be available for 400 MS points. This is the first in a series of planned downloadable content that further expands the Mass Effect universe and continues the adventures of Commander Shepard and the Normandy crew.

Bring Down the Sky includes a new uncharted world that introduces the notorious and feared alien race of the Batarians. A Batarian extremist group has hijacked a mobile asteroid station in the Asgard system, setting it on a collision course with the nearby colony world of Terra Nova. Only Commander Shepard can save the millions of innocent civilians before the asteroid completes its deadly descent.

Bring Down the Sky contains approximately 90 minutes of heart-pounding action and a new Achievement worth 50 Gamerscore points.

Great! 400 isn't bad at all for 90ish minutes of fun. I wonder if it's sorta like one of the primary game quests (like how looking for Benezia ended up being quite a bit of stuff). I doubt that was only 90 minutes, but I just hope/wonder if there are multiple things and a cool storyline.

I also wonder how we access it within the game...I forget if I can just keep playing my original Shepard or if I have to restart a new game with her, keeping the same stats, etc. I'm halfway through with a evil guy, but I'd like to be my "real" Shepard without having to play through the beginning right now.
