I am finding that I enjoy the game more in small doses. It can't be the primary or only game that I am playing.

When I first started the magically restocked checkpoints and repetition got on my nerves, but since then I have been playing the game in small doses (less than an hour), complete a mission or two and then play something else. It has helped keep the game fun.

As of late this is exactly how I play this game. I complete a mission or 2 every couple of days. Been so consumed with World of Warcraft and COD plus NBA2K9 but WOW gets most of my gaming. It's taking me forever to level up with my Mage. Peace!!!!

Online is an absolute blast imo. I really like the pace, and pulling bullets out of my ankles, legs, and arms.

I LOOOOOOVVVVVEE it so far. Great, great game. It's like playing 24:redemption. I'm not into alien shooters, so I've been waiting for this for some time. Every mechanic in the game is super sharp and the polish is outstanding.

This and Dead Space are the two sleepers of the season. I'd put those two games head to head with almost any single player experience out there. The graphics, the music, the gameplay, the controls, the design are all top notch. I'm very impressed and pleased.

No, not yet. This is more of a first impression than a review. I haven't finished Dead Space either. Just played the first three missions and change. In the early going, I'd match this up with Gears 2, Saints Row 2(fun,fun,fun), Fable 2 in the sense that, if you're looking for this experience, you get gratified. Like, if you saw Farcry 2 and said "I want to be mercenary in Africa", then this DELIVERS. The only game I'm truly holding out of the conversation is Fallout, because I'm really early into Fallout, and that game is just too deep to give even an impression on.

I copped this game at GameStop on Saturday for $30. Figured it was worth a try. Is it me or is this game REALLY repetitive?

You are given a location
You travel there, kill a few scouts on the way
You go inside the location, kill everyone
Repeat

The game is gorgeous BTW, and I have not tried the online mode.

What I do not understand is why this game isnt deeper? With this wide open landscape there could be:

1. Militia convoy attacks, surrounding your vehicle shaking you down for diamonds
2. Africa has ongoing in fighting among tribes, that should make traveling dangerous. Why not incorporate that
3. Wild animal attacks should be occurring
4. Night and Day should be different in the type of enemies and animals seen
5. Vehicles should have customization (additional armor, weapons)
6. Motorcyles would have been a nice touch.

Co-sign, The game seemed like a blast the 1st couple of hours but quickly turned into a repetitive bore with annoying checkpoints for me. It turned from being fun into being a chore to play. I have enough chores in real life and I want my games to be fun. Far Cry 1 was so much more fun to play.

I have been playing this game online for the past 3 days and I am having an absolute blast! The customizable maps give you variation to the Online portion of the game! I was playing on this created board called "Water World" an absolute blast! Graphics are serious! The variable weather during the game is done really well.

Yep, online is where this game shines. Have rarely played the game offline.

I need help with malaria medicine. My journal says that I need to get it and it shows a fist icon which I believe stands for the Underground. Well, I don't see any fist icons on my map?

I thought I just had to go to any icon with an exclamation point but apparently not.

I also am wondering if I screwed something else up. I accepted a second mission from a weapons dealer but the target was crazy far away. I instead went back to Mike's Bar thinking I could get medicine there and accidentally accepted a mission from another dude and cancelled the weapons dealer one. Did I screw up my 'relationship' with the weapons dealer?

One last question...I finally completed this mission from the strange guy with the disguised voive. When he gave me the mission over the phone he said I would be paid in diamonds (of course) after takingb out the target. I took out the target and don't remember seeing any diamonds added to my total. Maybe I just missed it?

You can only do one mission at a time, so if you accept a mission it will cancel an ongoing mission.

Generally, you don't do all the malaria missions at once. So, if you have done one Underground mission that's all you will do for a while. Also, when you are in the midst of a main mission I don't believe you will see icons for the other main missions while on the active mission.

You probably just missed it, since I think only the main-mission guys pay the diamonds up front.

If they would have changed the following Far-Cry 2 would have been great:

1- Develop a Star system similar to GTA for each faction

2- Tone down the aggresive AI- Make the Checkpoints, CHECKPOINTS!! seriously, they should only shoot at you when you have stars. That alone would have improved the game 100%

3- Get rid of the Omni-present AI- This game could have had a very good stealth component but it is impossible to even sneak up on people.

4- Add weapon Customizations- They could have really added another dimension to the weapons by allowing customizations like Camo-spraying for weapons, Silencers, Acogs/red-dot Aimpoint, Better Magazines, Weapon Oil to reduce Jams, Upgraded Butt-stock, Surefire Flashlight, M203, Pistol Grip,Lasers, Etc etc.
