I know I'm stepping into a thread full of mostly fans of the game but I gotta say, I am not enjoying this game at all.

I recently re-played through the Kain/Soul Reaver games and even those 5+ year old games are better than Darksiders.

The reason I mention Soul Reaver is because the game feels more like that than any of the many mentioned here and in reviews. Sure, it steals bits from heaps of other games but to me it seems like Soul Reaver was the main inspiration.

Firstly, the graphics look like the would have been some of the best on the PS2. Definitely not good enough compared to current graphic beasts.

And the gameplay is been there done that type of feel, yet none of it is up to par with the games it has borrowed from.

I could go on, but this is one of those games that just boggles my mind how it could be reviewed so highly by the majority of people. I would agree more with IGN and probably rate it even lower actually. I don't get it, maybe it's the timing of release or maybe it's the blatantly obvious marketing from some of the devs openly comparing their game to Zelda, but some of the things said about this game just amaze me.

It's like a 6 or 6.5/10 'try hard' type game. I am glad I didn't pay for this game.

Hate to be harsh but it's my opinion.

Lol, you're allowed your opinion dude, I don't think anyone would hate on you fir it, especially since you gave the game a shot. I just personally disagree as I find the graphics/art style, gameplay, etc to all be fantastic.

To each their own though... I'm just glad we have so many options right now! Gaming has been great lately.

I don't see how in the current cookie cutter games how anyone could not like this game. SUre it borows a lot but overall it's a FUN experience for me.

Of course I'm the same way with COD MW2. I think it's a borefest with nothing new or refreshing and people go gaga over it also. Glad I was able to part with it for a decent trade.

i mean if you only played the game for 1-2 hours or so i recommend you play it for 4-6 hours before making up your mind because thats when the fun starts happening. Everyone has a different taste so you still might not like it but to me this game has a good main charactor a really good theme and OK graphics some parts better then others. i give the game a 8.3 IMO so far.

the problem i had with it at first was trying to compare it to god of war series and after i tried not to think about it i enjoyed it much more if that helps

Still loving the game... Although a few of the battles last like 20 minutes on Apocalyptic.... I cursed a lot....

Lol I know! I don't know what it is exactly, but I just love this friggin game. By the way, just an FYI for you guys, I just checked my latest save and I'm at 11 hrs and 32 min with another dungeon still to go. Looks like this game could clock in around 15 hrs, which is great.
