Re: Rock Band 2
You ain't lying. I just closed the book on this band this morning. I've heard them, never liked them, but when you say you don't like the Beatles, a lot of people just act like you haven't heard the "right" Beatles.
"Oh, that's their poppy stuff, you have to listen to_____"
Well yesterday I gave all of their "experimental" tracks a try. Man, I just don't like it. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I just can't stand their music. I don't like to say that bands suck, because music is about preference and not good or bad.
But if I were to say that a band was really overrated, and really sucks...
I'm glad they're making the game though, because that's more money in Harmonix's pocket for RB3 and that music creator.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
I have been on the fence about this game for a while. But reading through all of the feedback in this thread has sold me. Looks like I will be picking this up on Saturday. I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are on the triple cymbal pack versus just the 2 cymbals. Would three be overkill?Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
It uses the Rock Band 1 style so the way songs are listed are the same as well as hammer-ons being harder to see.
Personally, I wouldn't buy it unless you get the transfer code.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
Ok good I'm not seeing things... the hammer-ons looked harder to see to me and that's why. I don't think I'll be able to pass Thunderstruck's intro. Thats just ridiculous.Villanova Class of 2012

Also, you shouldn't have to restart HO/PO passages like this with a picking motion. Same goes for tapping sequences.Comment

Only the green notes would be hammer-ons.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
This is one of those tragedies in note charting, because that is extremely easy on real guitar. It sounds way more complex than it is, and the sad part is the open string mechanic would fix this.

I know when I played GHWT the other day and they had the tapping parts for the new guitar, it seemed incredibly easy to get through parts simply because I just flailed my fingers across the fretboard.
I guess it is what it is.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
I don't have any problems playing the intro to Thunderstruck...I understand the charting complaints, however; it's not that hard to play on a real guitar.
What I do, if it will help anyone, is I keep my index finger on Green the entire time and use my other three fingers to play the other notes. That way I can always pull off onto Green after strumming the appropriate note before.
The verses, however, I suck royal at.Comment

I didn't know it's $30 now. Makes it kind of dumb to pay $15 and wait for it off ebay when I can just get it for that.Comment

These tracks will be available on the Xbox Marketplace on January 13th, and they'll be up in the Playstation Store on January 15th. The Playstation Store will also be updating with last week's Roy Orbison 6 Pack as well, and you can check last week's announcement thread here for the track listing and pricing.
I would've bought "Are You Gonna Go My Way" before, but I won't now since I got GH:WT for Christmas.Comment
