What have they been complaining about?
I dug this up on their forums and it doesn't sound too bad. I will still pick these up today if I can find them. Figure too, some people have to be beating the hell out of them.
I did not get to test on 9/13 (Saturday) But Sunday (9/14) was mega day!! this drum kit was rocked for a full 11 hours yesterday!! This now brings my total time up to 31 total hours. Man it was crazy as I knew it would be on launch day! I played with my band the Rock Gamers for a few hours then had to leave. When I stopped my son began and rocked it until I came back, then after that I rocked some tour challenges and then we rocked together.
So after 31 hard hours, my red pad bubble has gotten worse. It is now to the point that you can look across the room and see the puff in it. When you hit it, it feels like you are hitting an air bubble. To give a visual which is the only one that comes to mind, it looks like a giant nipple. (ok every one mind out of the gutter LOL)
However the pad still functions and drops no notes! The blue pad as I mentioned has a crack. The crack has gotten a little worse, but it still the blue pad is not skipping a beat! I did very well when playing with the band, and any misses were because of me. Sight reading can do that to you!
Ths structure is still very sound. Nothing has come loose and the stand has still stayed in the same place! On the RB1 kit the stand liked to move down, so I think you guys did a better job on the holding clips.
The pedal is still whole and in one piece!! I cannot break this pedal. I mean Blind played with steel toe boots and still could not break the pedal!
I will say this again. With the amount of force I have put on the pedal on purpose, if this was a RB1 pedal it would have already been broken.
All in all I know people on the boards are having issues with their kits. I know we all have pre production kits which are lower quality than what they the consumer is receiving. But based on my test results so far, I would buy another one of these kits and say it is worth the $89.99.
Also the battery life seems to be amazing. After 31 hours I still have not changed batteries, and I still have 3 bars left which is only one down from full.
Also when it comes to pedals, I was tired as hell when I was done yesterday, however I had been looking at my new kick box for days as I was not using it during testing.
So after I logged hours for testing I had to play one song with this box since I am going to have to review it after I put in a few more hours.
No offense to Harmonix, but if you are a serious drummer either real or Rock Band only, this is the solution for you!!
I know I have reviewed every pedal in the land, and I know I swear by the Rock Pedal, and as a pedal I still do.
However nothing compared to using a real kick! No sensors to worry about and if you miss a bass not you know you missed a bass note.
I use the same kick as DavidShek which is a Roland KD-8 and I use a DW5000 pedal.
A kick box and one of these kits should be enough for anyone that is playing from easy to expert!!
