So, I was in Block Buster this evening adding a bit more credit to my value card for the RB2 bundle. I asked them if they had gotten the bundles in yet, and he pointed directly behind him. There they were. He commented that one of them was mine! But of course he said he couldn't sell it to me until Sunday......

IGN Hands On with AC-DC Pack

We tried our hand at five tracks during our brief time with the AC/DC Live pack and came away impressed not only with the presentation of the songs in the game but by how great the band sounded when they recorded the album. Singer Brian Johnson sounds as gravelly and wicked as he does on the band's studio albums, and he manages to belt out every tune with incredible power.

Matching his singing can be a challenge, but luckily all the band's songs have an easy cadence with chanty choruses that are easy to lock into. The same goes for the bass parts in nearly all the tracks we tried – if you're looking for a challenge on the ol' four-string, you won't find it here. But the drums and guitar more than make up for it in parts. "Thunderstruck" in particular gives the fingers a workout on guitar, and drummers will have a blast keeping up with the craziness.

12 achivements? Can they do that? This is being branded as a full game,don't they have to have 1000 points? That's arcade standard.

I'm in the same boat, but I have no thoughts of buying Rock Band for PS2. The degradation in video and audio alone is enough of a reason to hold back.

Damn, is it really supposed to be that much worse? I had GH3 for PS2 and I thought it sounded and looked fine on my big screen with surround sound. I was hoping this would be the same way... maybe i'll see if I can rent a copy of RB1 and see how bad it is.

If only there was a way to use the PS2 guitars on the 360...

Well GH 3 for 360 just looked damn ugly (the fret board), so I don't know what to say about that. I guess it matched well with the PS2 version because of that, but the other visuals weren't that great.

It's just that you won't get the same kind of audio out because you're not using HDMI, the audio also may be compressed for it to fit on the PS2, the framerate may be slower, etc. Plus, who's to say how long it will last on the PS2 also?

I just say upgrade now and you won't regret it. Like I said, I'm in the same boat with the controllers... but I'm sure I can figure something out (maybe mod my PS2 and play my GH customs on there or something).

Definitely a downgrade in colors, pop, aliasing, etc. Plus, consider loading times as well. They were a pain in the but on GH 3 once you realized how quick they were on 360.

I'm new to this genre of game, can anyone give me a quick synopsis of why Rock Band is better than guitar hero. Is is gameplay mechanics, graphics, songs etc? I preordered GHWT, but I'm having 2nd thoughts based on the near unanimous opinion that Rock Band is superior.
