Nope. I'm waiting for other bands, though. I'm just saying that I hope they don't go on like a three month spree of non-rock so I have to wait even longer for songs that I've been hoping to be on this game forever.

I think with the work HMX has done to this point, you really shouldn't worry.

They have always provided a ton of variety and I have no doubt they will continue to do the same.

I think the point they were trying to make is that to this point, they really didn't have the leeway to really reach out towards different genres but with so much DLC under their belt, they finally can.

Unless you are talking about the Beastie Boys...which are evidently technically Rock

I was going to say Beastie Boys (don't like them at all).

And I didn't say that some of the guys mentioned (assuming they'll make it into the game) couldn't play guitar, I'm saying that Blues and Jazz songs aren't known for their guitar riffs and normally play second-fiddle to the bass and some brass instruments or what have you.

Jazz guitar is some of the hardest, most complex guitar you could possibly find.

Fair enough. I suppose that it just bogs down to song choice at this point.

Nevertheless, I just hope that this doesn't mean a long-term period of no rock DLC. I wouldn't mind if they added these in addition to their weekly scheduled releases.

Here's the DLC announcement arriving on the week of 2/3. We're busting out a 3 pack of Thin Lizzy anthems from their new live cd, and backing that up with classic singles from The Pretenders and Pat Benatar, as well as two tracks from Nikko!

Here's the full scoop:

Thin Lizzy - Boys Are Back In Town (Live)
Thin Lizzy - Cowboy Song (Live)
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak (Live)
The Pretenders - Precious
Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Nikko - Break My Heart
Nikko - Don't Tell Me

All tracks are original master recordings.

These tracks will be $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) a piece, or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) for the Thin Lizzy 3 pack, with the exception of the Nikko tracks which will run $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points) each.

You can find these songs in the Xbox Live Marketplace on Tues Feb 3rd, and in the Playstation Store on Thurs Feb 5th.

Go to the drop-down tab and it will be the first listed track under Pretenders (US Release). It's nothing worth buying IMO.

I'll definitely be getting Benatar and The Boys Are Back In Town. I'm considering just getting the whole back, but I'll wait for the note charts by Npeaen.

Amazing that I didn't even know two of the songs by song title (Jailbreak and Cowboy Song) but I absolutely love these songs.

Thin Lizzy pack is a must-buy and I'll add Benatar as well.
