I finally bought the Undead Nightmare DLC and am loving it. I forgot how great this game was and the zombie feature is a really cool and different story line.

I am thinking of picking up the game of the year addition as it's only $20 new at my local eb games. Never did finish the game the first time I had it but don't mind starting over plus I never played the undead nightmare. Hell On Wheels has got me in the mood to get back to the game.

I really wish this was released for PC. I would never stop playing it.

So after never completing it the first time around, I started all over again. As compelling as the story is, I can say that the game feels a little too long.

How far did you get the first time around?

Barely into Mexico, I'm about three quest past the end of the Mexico portion now. They are like never-ending.

Ah yes, I feel you there. My first time through, I enjoyed the entire journey. I got sucked in. However, on subsequent playthroughs, Mexico has definitely seemed to be the "long" point in terms of being in a dry, sometimes bland environment riding one's horse to many faraway locations performing some deeds that could be declared errand-like.

I'll say this though, I obviously can't speak for you, but my time spend in Mexico only made the next move all the more incredible (and relieving). Again, maybe you won't feel the same, but I'd definitely recommend sticking with it, at least to see how the next area treats you. That area was one of the best level transformations/reveals I've ever experienced.

As good as the shooting mechanics are, it was just like "eh" for what felt like wave after during the Mexico portion.

Just got to the new chapter, and definitely appreciate the change of scenery.

I guess the difference is if you're playing to beat the game, instead of playing for the whole experience if that makes sense. I gladly devoted hours doing absolutely nothing, practically avoiding missions at times.

It'll definitely feel long if you're just doing mission after mission, hoping to get to the end.

I just finished the main quest and wow. What an ending, definitely ranks with KoToR for my favorite story.

Are you sure you beat the game? What was the last thing you experienced, put it in spoilers.

This. If anyone ever watches westerns then this game nails it. In a prototypical western they often show a lone cowboy or maybe a gang of them, in the desert on a seemingly never ending journey. You can tell how it was a trying, long time by the way it fades away with heat waves and sun in the background. That was Mexico for me. It was that trial that made me appreciate the next chapter.

Three years in, I think I'm finally gonna pick this up for PS3.
Sports games are starting to bore me, and I love westerns!

Don't ask me why I never looked into getting it before; guess I thought it would bore me. But seeing how this thread is still active years later, I must've missed something, lol
