Somehow I forgot Silverado. I grew up watching that movie all the time. Kevin Costner was my hero.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, is by far the best western ever made! After that, you can throw in:

      Tombstone (Val is the man)
      The Wild Bunch
      High Plains Drifter
      Unforgiven
      For a few Dollars more
      The Outlaw Josey Wales
      Rio Bravo
Last Train from Gun Hill (Kirk Douglas is the man)

Open Range is a classic kind of Western. Cool beginning and then a very slow, drawn-out story until it reaches it's climax.
But the final battle is awesome! Especially how it all gets started.

For those interested, Tombstone comes out in Bluray on April 27th. I'm buying that for sure.

I enjoyed that movie as well as I do most westerns. Alot of what you guys posted I am a fan of. My most recent favourite has to be 3:10 to Yuma.

The only western I've ever seen is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and that's not really a western. More of a character study.

Damn good movie, though. One of my favorites.

That one has really grown on me to be one of my favorite movies in general. The bluray is just beautiful.

Im probably in the minority on this but i really liked Wyatt Earp with Costner. Actually enjoyed that more than Tombstone.

                        And Unforgiven is fabulous.

I actually enjoyed Wyatt Earp...well the first two hours at least. It was longer than needed and the "Say my Name" romance crap was a bit contrived as I recall. I dug Quaid as Doc though!

                              As for Blazing Saddles...hilarious.

My favorite Western is Last Man Standing. Okay...I'm just exposing my man-crush on Bruce as it's not really a Western, but a typical Bruce Willis Movie taking place in a somewhat western setting. He was bad *** in it though.

On the sci-fi side of things I enjoyed Westworld with Yul Brynner as a robotic gunslinger. I haven't seen it years but always remember seeing it for the first time when I was a kid.
