Nope. You can buy it as a stand alone. Not sure how good it is, I never played it.

Remember Undead Nightmare getting good reviews. I haven't started it myself yet. Any idea how long it takes, I only really do the main storyline stuff.

It's a pretty good stand alone title. It's kind of tongue in cheek (considering the ending of RDR). It's senseless killing of zombies in the old west. It's pretty short and the weather and atmosphere are murky like you'd expect. You don't have all of the weapons from the main game, but the ones you get are pretty kool. Hell, it was fun just dragging a zombie behind my apocalyptic horse. I think Undead Nightmare comes with the multiplayer free roam modes as well.

Decided to pop this game in today and I'm loving it.

Last time I played, according to my save files, was June 2010; so it's been a while.

We'll see how well it holds up a second time. I never actually played again after beating it the first time.

I didn't buy it until January of 2012. It hasn't really left my rotation since. I've beaten the game three times. I'm now working on my fourth and so far, my plan has been to earn my money only through missions, discovery, or looting. I thought not selling my goods might make things more interesting, so I don't end up with every gun and unlimited ammo early on.

I saw this at the top of the board, so I wanted to chime in. This still has the best Hold 'em mini game that I have played and I am a poker player.

After playing Far Cry 3's Hold 'Em, I missed this one. In poker you can't say, "I see your bet and raise you" like Jason does in Far Cry 3. That's a string bet and in any casino the floor manager will tell you that you called. It drives me crazy.

So loved this game. Had it the morning it was released, played it 3 days straight (literally 24 hour marathon in there), solving the game and hitting lvl 50 in multi-player (though not all achievements) in that time. Estimated I had nearly 60 hours of gameplay in 3 days. What a crazy/fun time. Easily the most enthralling experience that easily drew this Texan in and kept him there.

I can't believe this game has been out for almost 3 years now. Might have to fire it up again, I long to see one of those epic sunrises whilst riding my trusty steed.

This was a great game, I really enjoyed the western atmosphere in it. Definitely a very unique experience that I have not had an any other game. One of the reason why Rockstar Games is one of my favorite developers.

Count me in as someone who recently came back to this.

I truly enjoyed it when I first played it, but coming back I really am in awe over the atmosphere, and small details that make the game world what it is.

It's also a fascinating time period intersecting the decline of the frontier west, and coupled with amazingly realized environments down to the most minute detail. Add to that the visuals, the diverse world rendered in a sandbox structure, and too many other things to mention, and it all sums to a work of art as much as it does an top notch video game.

Something I find intriguing today is how the game apparently went through development hell, and had all the various branches of Rockstar working on it while basically forcing less than desirable working conditions on employees. Usually projects that incoherent end up as disasters.

Also just fired this game back up. I'm not much of a single player gamer, but R* nails it every time. Already has me sucked back in to the story. Magnificent game, as mentioned above it's been out 3 years!

Anyone know what's up with the multiplayer? Not sure if nobody plays, it's an Xbox server issue or R* issue. I tried to hop in, no dice. Can't establish a connection with other players.

I have the Game of the Year Edition (with the Undead Nightmare and whatnot). I think everything's included. There are two discs - one for single player and then another for Undead Nightmare and Multiplayer. I'm not quite sure what is DLC, but there are some outfits and weapons I was able to earn or buy in my game that are not in my brother's normal edition.
