I had heard about people being turned into animals but never saw it till couple days ago. I was in Cherno looking at a completely destroyed hospital thinking about how the server must be hacked when a rabbit with 10 zombies came running up and asked for help. A little after that I was turned myself followed by my friend becoming a goat.Comment

Had a crazy 40 mins or so.
I was sitting on a tower in Cherno when I saw a chopper land on the far docks. I saw one guy jump out and looks for gear, so I take range at 630m and pop I drop him with my little CZ 550. With my heart thumping from getting a long head shot plus a chopper sitting on the dock, I ran for the dock across town. When I get about 200m from the chopper I spot a 2nd guy with a AS50 and we have a sniper dancing duel. He missed the 1st shot but I drilled him with a head shot and the 3rd guy came out a killed me.
I run back as the chopper hits the sky and leaves, but I notice a motorcycle on the dock and grab it to go pickup my friend. He finds a afk guy with a AS50 being attack by a zombie, I arrive when the guy gets killed and we loot. I snag a AS50, range finder and bunch of other gear. So we head down to Kamenka to rest and get fuel when a guy with a Saw killed my buddy. We do a dance and we both kill eachother and the spawn race is on.
I spawn next to Kamenka and get all the gear and things work out.
But its was a crazy adrenaline filled 40 mins. And now I have a AS50.

Honestly...I would like DayZ as a single player game.
I get that it is a lot of fun in playing with/against others and that is part of the actual gameplay in certain terms....but
1-people simply do not act the way they would and rather than it being a choice based on your experience...a lot of the time it's a simple crapshoot on whether the guy you just took into your group is suddenly going to break out into a gunfight for the sole purpose of a gunfight.
2-As stated...the hacking. It's getting a bit weird and I haven't played in a week already...it seems to be getting worse.
3-I just like single player games.

I totally agree with you. I usually play it as a single player game because I'm not playing for hours on end. I don't have time to group up and do all that.Honestly...I would like DayZ as a single player game.

Not sure if NPCs would be possible, but it'd be fun to have the entire area and then NPC's that you could possibly communicate with? Or they just shoot you on sight? i downloaded and installed the lingor island mod that was made for dayz yesterday. i only had time to play for an hour or so but the map is well done. first life i had a makarov and some food+soda and was looking around saw a player announced myself as friendly and he shot me in the face
pretty crap shot considering he had an ak and took the whole clip to kill me 
2nd life i spawn right next to some buildings go into the first building and get shot by a group of players... i told them i hope they enjoy my bandage and set off on another life lol.. Now i will play this new map just like i do in the original dayz and just shoot everyone i see and take no chances.
if anyone is interested in knowing how to install and setup this mod let me know and i can post a youtube video that i used to install it. its def a nice change to the first map and gave me a fresh feel to the game as i know where nothing is right now.Comment

Anyway, anyone here playing this recently/at the moment? Or you waiting till stand alone?
I started playing 3/4 weeks ago, been a console gamer 95% of my life, and the way I play this now you would think I'd played on PC for years.
Learnt everything pretty quickly with thanks to a guy I meet on DayZ in Balota, who I'm now good buddies with. Now rolling in a group of 6 on a UK server, with high end gear. AS50's, DMR, M4's, and one M107. Some guy made the mistake of trying to take 3 of us out last night.. and missed horribly. Had to be some newbie who found a DMR because his shots were constantly hitting low, don't think he even realised this game has bullet drop, etc. We played it smart, split up, and flanked him from 3 directions.
Unfortunatly he took off.. Which made his choice of firing at us look even more ridiculous. We knew he went into Berezino so we surround it, waited, then bailed. Wanted to make sure he knew we were not taking any crap.
We all managed to find camo clothing so hoepfully that scares people, plus we have a GAZ and a heli. Loooaded. :wink:Comment
