What's funny about the "one to one" copy paste of dungeon areas is that I just noticed tonight, during my first run through 'Awakening' is that one large section of Kal'Hirol is identical to Amgarrak. Save some textural differences, the general layout is the same.

Pretty weak if you ask me. It's not going to discourage me from a purchase, but it's sad they had to repeat environments.

That's what happens when you have to rush projects like Awakening and DA2 were. Welcome to the new EAWare.

I'm still snagging DA2 as Origins was my GOTY for 2009 but I can't say I'm a fan of the changes they made.

That's actually how I started out my Brian Wilson one. Went to make Sheen but I noticed he looked more Brian Wilson. (That was a mod to unlock the character creator in the demo.)

The first "patch" is now available for the PC version,an entirely optional high-res texture pack:

Using high-resolution textures requires a graphics card with at least 1024MB video memory.
Most of the benefits from the Hi-resolution textures will only be seen if you are able to run the game in DirectX 11.

eh..i have DA2 preloaded on Steam and its showing 7 hours (currently 8:52PM as im typing this) till release...i thought it would be unlocked by midnight tonight...

Unlocking is based on the official game release date for the region you live in. The PC versions, both digital and retail, will unlock beginning at the following times:

• Western Europe – 0000h on March 10th
• Australia & New Zealand – 0000h March 9th

Bottom Line: A pinnacle of role-playing games with well-designed mechanics and excellent story-telling, Dragon Age II is what videogames are meant to be.

Recommendation: Buy it, steal it, beat up your little brother so you can play it.

You get the Blood Dragon Armor in this automatically if you've previously had it.

It was an inauspicious beginning when the game crashed twice during the opening tutorial battle, but some new drivers and a modification of the settings seem to have righted the ship. Can't waiting to play some more when I return from work.

Not getting the glowing reviews some would have thought:

8's are pretty solid reviews. Obviously the game isn't "must have" status, but it sounds improved from the first so that's nice.

I think if you loved the first one, you will love this one. I know combat is a little faster, but the story, characters, and lore is what has me drawn to this one. Love the Dragon Age universe. Can't wait to get home and fire this one up for the first time and fall in love again.

And that is what has me hook line and sinker. The lore, story, voice acting. The best in RPG's ever. Still not done with DA but picking this up today and it will be rearing to go once I get through DAO. Also the Show is on deck. 3 game rotation for the foreseeable future.

Are you using DX11? They released a patch for that already, it's on the DA Bioware social site.

Can only get the Signature edition by pre-ordering before Jan 11th they says. There it was in the store. Ordered it from amazon in January.
